Phoenix Brings Back Hill, Signs Frye

The Suns are bringing back some familiar faces, coming to terms with Grant Hill and former Arizona Wildcat Channing Frye: “Grant Hill has decided to re-sign with Phoenix, and a large part of the decision is based on the belief that Steve Nash is close to reaching an agreement on a contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. [...] The Suns will also sign free agent Channing Frye to a two-year deal for $3.8 million, sources said.”

Like both the moves. Shocked that Nash is going to resign with the team – thought they were rebuilding.

    Frye is gonna blossom there.

Frye is a really good pick-up at that price, especially with what teams usually throw to big men.

Grant Hill can play forever with PHX’s training staff.

Can’t believe that Danny Ferry couldn’t throw 2 mil a year at Frye. Isn’t he a so-called stretch forward?

Nice! Stoked about all of this. I wonder if Frye is excited to be going back to Arizona.

Varejao gets 50 mil and Frye gets 3.8 mil. Cleveland is making horrible decisions.

Hells jeah, welcome back to the state Frye! Hopefully they give him a chance to play. Back wen he was with the knicks i remember Isaiah Thomas would randomly start him and wen he did he would put up some good numbers then sit him out the next few games. Made no sense at all to me. and yeah, varejao is wackness to frye

Nice, but one more big guy wouldnt hurt, (Chris Wilcox, Hey who knows, Tyson Chandler)

  • Canuck

Haha wow rob when you put it like that…Sideshow for 50 or Frye for 4…..hmmmmm.

If Frye plays near as effective as he did as a rookie, then he might play well in the right system. As has been said, shocked Nash is staying – he’s basically putting his cue in the rack, as far as winning a title goes.

Nash is a “SUN”, leave it, no Ring just a good & fun team to play for (good). dont hate

frye is wayy better than varejoa and he still has a bit of potential. they both basically do the same things in terms of rebounding but frye actualy has a 15 – 18 ft jumpshot, whereas varejoa has to get into a pick & roll with lebron to score, or offensive putbacks. if it wasnt for lebron, varejao would be in the d league, anyone who doesnt have much talent can be a hustle guy. this makes cleveland look like the east LA clips.

Being a Blazer fan, I wish Frye the best. Phoenix is getting a real class act, with a huge future in the league. Good luck. As for Hill, he may only have a year or two left in him, too bad he didnt land on a (serious) contender like San Antonio or Boston. Has had a roller coaster of a career, but before all the injuries he was one of the most entertaining guys to watch.

Good pick up don’t know what Hill is doing in the valley of the Sun but I guess who eles would he play for? I’m excited about this pick up. Just picture it Amare down on the low block gets double teamed and passes to Frye for a short jumper. Epic

Co-sign niQ, think the Sun’s training staff also had a lot to do with this, shame we won’t see Hill on a contender though

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Co-sign Blaze. Frye has serious upside if the Suns use him the right way. Which they won’t, because of Steve Kerr.

Ben Wallace sighting!! Hes playing the drums on late night with Jimmy Fallon.

C-Frye had some nice numbers for a rook a while back. It was tough for him to get minutes in Portland with LA, ghost face, and Oden gettin tick. I like the pick up for Phoenix.

Memphis waived stackhouse. Where will he end up?

Good luck for the “Buffet of Goodness” in Phoenix; I think he’ll shine, too.
