Ron Artest’s Twitter Gaffe

Twitter is quickly becoming the bane of every agent and League exec’s life: “While the Rockets made their pursuit of a center their initial free agent priority, there was a brief, but alarming sign that Ron Artest was ready to move on. It was a false alarm. A message attributed to Artest — ‘THANKS A LOT HOUSTON :) I HAD A LOT OF FUN.’ — appeared on Twitter late Wednesday. Artest’s agent, David Bauman, said that the message was sent by an imposter. ‘That is not Ron’s account,’ Bauman said. ‘That’s what happens with the so-called new media.’ Bauman had said on Tuesday that Artest’s ‘first choice’ was to return to Houston. Although Bauman would not discuss anything about talks with general managers, he and the Rockets were not expected to begin negotiations until today at the earliest while the Rockets made their pursuit of Orlando center Marcin Gortat their first step in free agency.”

Twitter is ruining the internet. And professional basketball.

I don’t believe for a second that the account is fake. Ron’s been posting pics and everything. I highly doubt Ron would let someone else keep taking pics and posting them on the site unless it was someone in his crew. His agent is just trying to do some damage-control so as not to lose any ground with potential suitors, including Houston.

Real_Ron_Artest isn’t actually Ron Artest. It’s a genius tweet platform from guys at Style Points Blog – DimeMag

No, idiots on Twitter are ruining basketball. Nobody told Kevin Love to tweet about McHale, among other problems.

yeah the account is NOT fake, i’m not sure why his agent implied it was….there may be other fake accounts reporting the same thing, but he’s been posting it on 96TruwarierQB, the real account….he was on a radio show last night and basically said he was kidding..

This is why I dislike the offseason “news” we get. This clearly states that Ron Artest is looking at Houston for his first option.
Why the heck did we just hear TWO rumors before that he’s planning on joining the Lakers?
I’m willing to believe Artest’s agent over a freakin’ Twitter imposter.

With Trev possibly leaving you can bet that Ron’s coming to LA. Take it to the bank.

Wow, to think Tiger Woods is a role model. Hey, the guy is a great golfer but he is a pig pure and simple. Don’t you dare say the personal lives of athletes shouldn’t be public. We pay your salary so everything about you is public. You want obscurity then you should drive a truck or work in a bank, but if you want stardom, you had better be prepared if you can’t live a clean and decent life. I guess when I read your bio I shouldn’t have expected anything else, sounds like one pig to another.
