Shannon Brown Re-Ups
Brown is staying in SoCal, and his agent is painting it as an altruistic move: “On Monday the 23-year-old guard agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million contract with a player option after the first season, agent Mark Bartelstein said. ‘He got offered considerably more money by a couple other teams, but Mitch Kupchak, Phil (Jackson) and Dr. (Jerry) Buss did a tremendous job of recruiting him to come back,’ Bartelstein said. ‘It also showed tremendous character by Shannon forgoing more money because he sees the chance to be something special. He took a lot less at a time when he hasn’t made a lot of money yet.’”
