    Shannon Brown Re-Ups

Brown is staying in SoCal, and his agent is painting it as an altruistic move: “On Monday the 23-year-old guard agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million contract with a player option after the first season, agent Mark Bartelstein said. ‘He got offered considerably more money by a couple other teams, but Mitch Kupchak, Phil (Jackson) and Dr. (Jerry) Buss did a tremendous job of recruiting him to come back,’ Bartelstein said. ‘It also showed tremendous character by Shannon forgoing more money because he sees the chance to be something special. He took a lot less at a time when he hasn’t made a lot of money yet.’”

Why waste 2 million dollars on this guy when they can use it to pay Lamar?

    • CJK Posted: Jul.7 at 1:36 pm
shannon’s a great character to help with all the egos (Kobe/Ron Ron/Lamar) but they need Lamar a lot more than him. If Odom ends up going to Portland, the lakers will wish they had kept that money.

Getting Shannon from the Bobcats was a steal. Unlike Morrison… And it’s good to see some players still got some, after a team gave them an opportunity to prove themselves.

      - still got some loyalty -

underdog is crazy. Vladimir Radmovic adveraged 18 points a game for us as a starter (he started until Wallace came back). Brown also had a oppurtunity to ‘prove himself’ in CHA, and he did, by single handingly causing the Bobcats lose the game against the Hawks…Steal ma black a$$….

    • kobesbestfriend Posted: Jul.7 at 3:50 pm
shannon brown has a name like a girl and lamar has game like 1!i guarantee odom goes back 2 his lackluster playing performance or get injured 4 the whole season if the lakers resign him 2 a big contract!he should be in a contract year every year so we can make sure he doesnt play like he’s in the wnba and act like he knows he’s actually 6′10!4get resigning him and just go after the matrix or big baby!

Who should be the first pg off the bench next season? Doc Brown or Farmar? I’m going with Brown here.

    • rob stewart Posted: Jul.8 at 10:41 am
Trade Farmar for some money and sign Lamar

    • The Seed Posted: Jul.8 at 11:40 am
Great move to sign Brown for nothing, when he could have left and made more money. Brown wants some more rings.
