Sterling Wants Iverson; Does Anyone Else?

Says here that the Clippers’ owner has little organizational support in his pursuit of The Answer: “Clippers owner Donald Sterling wants Allen Iverson, but not many of his top basketball people are thinking along those lines. ‘It’s out of our control,’ complained one Clipper executive this past week. ‘This is owner-driven.’ Apparently, Sterling has noted that Clippers tickets are moving as slowly as L.A. traffic. He sees Iverson as a box-office draw, even in a bench role following a disastrous season in Detroit that ended with him being sent home for the playoffs. But it’s pretty clear that Iverson, a free agent one GM called ‘our league’s Barry Bonds,’ isn’t in coach Mike Dunleavy’s plans.”

Yes Felix, he can play. But he can’t WIN. That’s the problem.

  • Seven Duece

It’s sad what his career’s come to. But, he if everyone else could see it, why couldn’t he. Plus, he’s made hundreds of millions of dollars playing a game, so sympathy is out the window.

Well, a no off-season work ethic (dare I say anti-off season work ethic even?) and a Shaq like black-hole like demand for the ball at all times over the years serves as why Iverson’s career is plumetting like the shooting star he is. Or was. He’s gonna shoot 20 times at least. For 35%. And whoever he’s guarding is going to have an easy 26 points. I’ve got a lot of passion and heart too, so what can you REALLY say about that. Plus all of those negative cognitations that BET Juk and Eboy were speaking of and there you have it. Ivonut Cancer. Kimotherapy please.

  • Felix

But he’s a legend… he changed basketball… 5’10″ point guard, 165lb, with flashy game… takes a beating, leads the league in scoring several times… he carried a team to the finals, and even stole a game from Shaq and Kobe… AI inspired millions of people world wide… and did it his way

  • Felix

he was my hero, until Richard Jefferson dumped his girl because he knew he was going to be pullin boatloads of groupies in Texas… now RJ is my hero… he can play too… like RJ to Spurs, good move.

the reason why a.i. cant go to a good team to win a championship because he wont sacrifice anything for his team/teammates.
he wants to be the man who scores, but not a role player.
ray, kg, and paul all knew they were at the end of their so called lines. and they sacrificed and became a team, and knew their roles.
a.i… sadly thinks he is still were he was 5 to 10 years ago. and he is not.
i still love the dood, but he needs to realize he is not the answer, just a question now.

  • tha_rev25

my man is tuff, but we’ll never see the day where one single player will win a championship… u gotta have some players around you

Remember when he played all 82 for Denver, the 2nd most minutes he’s ever played, was a veteran role player leader on the most talented team he’s ever been on (sorry, Detroit was not the most talented as people keep saying, Iverson said it himself it was Denver), shot 46% from the field (2nd best of his career), and worked flawlessly as a 1-2 punch with Melo (but Melo and Karl both didn’t believe in defense yet), nobody does. Denver gave up way too fast on Iverson. So its all Kiki’s fault.

Iverson needs to sign with the Bobcats and just chill with Mike in the bleachers/sidelines while the team practices, or even bring out the competitive Mike to get AI to go hard during those few hour team on court meetings. Iverson would def. like those practices.

LB might not call it playing the right way, but NBA players would probably still pay to see these guys go at it in practice today. No un-retirement though Mike.

Or if Kiki Vw was already out by then, sorry. Karl and the front office get both blame. Billups is nice, but they didn’t get much further (or over the hump) in the stacked West and won’t when Melo still looks up to Kobe – helping him up during games and such instead of making war during and love after with his BFF team USA friend.

PLEASE GO BACK HOME TO PHILLY OR JUST SIGN WITH THE BOBCATS.

he makes your team suck. the clips finaly have created a sort of a team for next season. now they need a new coach and let mike dunleavy sr be the GM. Iverson has played himself out of the leauge especialy last year.

I’v never had to sit on a bench if curry was a man he would’ve let him sit and told him what he wanted from him straight up. now he just pissed of his whole team the team chemistry which wasn’t good in the first place and they let the artist formerly known as the answer screw up their ofense

Felix: get a clue man… that’s NOT why RJ dumped his girl…. there may be some pulling of possible sexual partners involved, but there ain’t no females to be seen.
