The Birdman Will Stay in Denver

Chris Andersen is ready to make the Mile High City his home for a while: “A source close to the discussions said late Tuesday that Denver Nuggets free agent center Chris Andersen has agreed with the team on a five-year, $26 million contract extension. Andersen was Denver’s top offseason priority, and the team moved quickly to re-sign him, meeting with the veteran, who turned 31 Tuesday, and his representatives this past weekend…’Everything they said they would do, they did,’ said a source close to Andersen. ‘They said he was their priority, and they came out to see him, and they got it done.’”

I’m happy for Chris. He’s went from down-and-out to guaranteed good money. I hope he stays on the wagon.

Birdman is pretty damn awesome but i think they gave him a little to much seeing as they have so many other needs and Kroenke is not going to pay any luxery taxes

Nice. Maybe he can finally afford the other half of his “Honkey Tonk Outlaw” tattoo.

He was a great fan’s favourite up there in the mountains of Colorado. You can see how this move makes sense to keep him. Plus that D.

He’s the type of player opposing fans love to hate. Almost like a Dennis Rodman or Bill Laimbeer. He deserves his new contract, hes a hard worker. But remember when he was 86ed outta the NBA for drug use. I heard somewhere he was dropping acid (seriously)
