The LeBron Tape: Found!

You can’t stop TMZ, you can only hope to contain them: “The DUNK!!!! We got footage of THE DUNK!!!! You know what we’re talking about — the legendary moment where some virtually unknown college kid blasted a two-handed dunk right in King James’ FACE — at his very own LeBron James Summer basketball camp!!” (And of course, we’ll have the vid on this here site soon as it’s unveiled to the world.)

    Breaking news: TMZ headquarters has been bombed. Suspect is seen running away in LBJ gear. Ironically, there is no footage of the explosion. Among the dozens of casualties, the tape has been destroyed.

    The pic on the site makes LeBron look 5 foot taller than Crawford. He looks absolutely huge there. Think Iverson weaving under Shaq, or Earl Boykins against anyone.

    They also post a lot of broken “news” stories. Lets not continue this link exchange with TMZ SLAM! I didn’t care anymore after J.Crawford in one interview said it wasn’t a big deal, LeBron continued playing (played harder afterwards though) not rumored to storm off to find somebody to retrieve the tapes or whisper to the Nike people there running the event, and he didn’t understand the media fuss about it.

    just got in from Kobe’s clinic in Singapore indoor stadium. Dude is BELOVED here. Every step he took was accompanied by screams/cheers etc. Also had a chance to talk to him before that (thanks to the peeps at Nike S’pore) and i must say he was charming and very nice to talk to. Might have to retire the “mambiatch” moniker (at least till the season starts). Fun night. And nope, none of the asian cats tried dunking on him. Wayyyyy too much in awe of the man.

    I thought the plan was for Dark to smack the ball or anything Kobe was holding out of his hands, then running like hell. For a proper example, see Snoop’s short lived MTV clip show – Doggy Fizzle Televizzle where he slapped the cups of coffee out of the beat cops’ hands then ran like hell – jumping fences and everything. Dark went to Singapore and got Snake charmed, sounds normal until the Kobe part – nothing is normal with Kobe.

    tmz is a great example of whats wrong with the world in the 21st century but Oh!-M-G i have to say i am soo grateful for this. I don’t even care if its not a good dunk, I mean in some ways, the worse the better, it makes LeBron look more of the ‘LeChump’ he really is. Its him who makes Nike money not the otherway around and he could of easily told em where to go if they said they banned all the tapes over some lame little dunk. But I do hope its a 720 between the legs windmill reverse, a) for effect b) its never been done before

    Hey Ben, i wanted to tell you how you hit the nail on the head in your introductory peice on Kobe in the new ish.
    But it looks like Dark of all people! beat me to it. And thats saying something. very few of us can form an opinion on a pro athlete from actual 1 on 1 conversation. We only know what we see and even that can be swayed by backround noise,for the most part we rely on the journalist’s take. But no doubt when dealing with any major athlete after spending time with that person and convo your opinion is going to be adjusted good or bad.

    Wait, let me guess how this situation will pan out: Tape mysteriously found. LeBron explains to the press how he knew absolutely nothing about any tapes being confiscated and that he’s totally shocked something like that actually happened. Then he apologizes to the kid and comes out the good guy once again. Sternbot giggles.

    Oh come on Eboy. i don’t luv the guy, just saying he was very accomodating given the timeframe he had (1 day in Singa, being hustled from A – B by his Nike handlers). i had a good 5 minutes with him, and Kobe-hater or no, i’ve never spent more time with a bonafide Nba superstar except for Dirk and KG, and that was in a more relaxed setting. Don’t worry, still can’t stand him on the court. Though he did make one dude do a 17 (sideline sprints) in 90seconds, then just as the poor kid was coughing up a lung, he “lost count” and made him do it again. Audience went bananas on that one.

    I knew you weren’t going to go insane as per your responses from the thread you first mentioned it – to like Eboy and a few others’ suggestions. But Kobe still needs a payback neck slap from Chris Bosh (Tonight Show correspondent piece during ASG was it?). And sadly Doggy Fizzle Televizzle never got to DVD or even youtube, I think. Never checked youtube, but their official website was still up the last time I thought to check it, couple years ago. Forums were spam city like most non maintained sites.

    i have a feeling that once we see this dunk we are all gonna be disappointed and be like “that was it?” i could be wrong(and hopefully i am), but i just think that its not gonna be that great, esp with all the talk about it
