Big Baby Tweets His Free Agency Frustrations

Thankfully, he’s not using any gang-related language to do so: “The Celtics forward, discouraged by the lack of progress in talks with the Celtics as well as shrinking options in the free agent market, posted his frustration last night on twitter.com in a series of so-called tweets. As evidenced by his comments, Davis’ angst was tweaked in part by the Celtics’ signing of free agent power forward Sheldon Williams to a veteran’s minimum contract earlier this week. A league source also confirmed that the Celtics finally started discussing numbers with Davis over the last week, and made an offer that was considered disappointing by the Davis camp.”

Yeah, I was surprised by the Williams signing. With Wallace already there, and KG too, how many power forwards can you have? Sure, Sheed might play center too, but still. More and more as a Nets fan, I would like to see him join the Nets. I didn’t like it at first, but man we sure could use him. What obviously doesn’t help is that the Nets already have 15 players on their roster….

It was just a bunch of crying emoticons. Then he ate his emotions.

i’m not a fan at all of big baby and thought that he was stealing powe’s minutes(his fg% was under 40 for a good chunk of the year, which is unacceptable if you’re a small guard and beyond embarassing if you’re a big). BUT, i can’t believe that there’s no market for him after he added a mid range j and performed very well in the playoffs. how come ferry ain’t call him?! (unless he has a wink wink deal with powe)

I think Big Baby has a shelf life of about three more years.

“Why does this have to be so komplicated?! It is a krime! Baby need his KKKKASH! I WANT TO KRY!!!”

I like Baby as a player and I think the C’s will resign him (if only to trade him), but his agent should have spent a minute explaining to Glenn that it is a buyer’s market right now unless your name is Kobe or Lebron.

Seriously, I never realized how illiterate so many athletes are until I discovered twitter. It looks like Radio wrote that sh,it.

I hope we keep G. Davis but he has to realize that he is not a big time name and will not get big time money until he proves that his playoff run is who is and will be as a player. As far as signing Sheldon, I hope Candice is around a lot during the season. I’ve never “tweeted” and don’t really care tht much to know all about their personal lives.

I was really sad when Boston signed Shelden, because they did that to either trade Big Baby or Leon but i hope that the celts management rethinks this and value the game that Davis brings to the table, besides who wants shelden williams in ur team, i think Mikki Moore is better than him, and lets not forget leon, he’s a great player and the celts would be lucky to keep him. I hope the celts keep both

Don’t these guys have agents that advise them to stop crying on the internet? The Big Baby tweets sound pathetic. I mean you’re trying to get a multimillion dollar contract for a few years and you’re tweeting? With dozens of exclamation points? Give me a break, sign the qualifying offer and then try again next year.

I wish the agents for these guys tweeted like this. If they advise their clients to do it, they must be pansies themselves.

The whole issue of the restricted free agency and qualifying offers is another issue too. If the owners get a lot of what they want in the new C.B.A. then maybe the players get rid of restricted free agency and just have unrestricted free agency.

I am really dissapointed for Glen Davis. He was CLUTCH in the playoffs – He should come to Phoenix and play with the Suns. Just sign for something, and play well and then get rewarded! Come on Glen come to PHOENIX!!

Big Baby has to grow up and he’s really not quite there yet to have a “BIG NAME”… On the same token he’s one of the best improved player last season and he does deserves a nice and fair contract. GO CELTICS!!!
