Calbert Cheaney Returns to Warriors

Suddenly, he got a call from Warriors general manager Larry Riley. He thought about it briefly before accepting the invitation. No, not to play for the Warriors again, as he did from 2003 to 2006. This time, he’ll be a special assistant, the Warriors announced Tuesday.”

    Did you guys know that Lindsey Hunter (drafted in 1993!!) is still in the league? I mention this cuz Cheaney was drafted in the same year and has been retired for three seasons. I think Shaq’s been playing the most seasons now that Deke’s gone, but Hunter’s never been an all star, so it really says somethin for his character and preparedness. Man I really feel old seein these names knowin I’ve seen em play… :-(

    He played as recently as 3 years ago?! Sad, when his best year was his rookie year.

    He sure did, came off the pine, made a baseline jumper-swish, and back to the bench before he could be exposed on defense. Could teach Randolph that shot at the very least.

    Actually, Hunter is the oldest player in the league right now since Deke retired. I’m not sure if he’s played the most seasons though.
