He could eventually become a solid role player with tenacious D and a reliable spot-up jumper. No burn this year though, behind LBJ, Parker, West, Moon and Gibson on the wings.

As per usual, co-sign Z. Also, Cleveland has got to be the favorites for best pre-game and on-the-bench antics.

Big Danny Green fan. Hope he gets some chance to get out on the court.

I always thought Danny Green had the most NBA potential on that UNC squad.

Danny Green is the man. He always seemed to make big plays. I remember more than one game when UNC was playing really badly and Danny Green making key plays until they got a run going. Danny can do at least three things: shoot the ball, get a block on an opponent’s fast break, and poke away a defensive rebound for a steal.

I agree with you TADOne…I was shocked when he got drafted so late…he’ll have his moments

Might have Anthony Parker’s and Delonte West’s position by the ASG. This is a GREAT pickup for them.

Wow alot of Danny Green fans, didn’t know their was any out their. Give me Wayne Ellington anyday. The real UNC star!!! THE MOP!!!

  • Teddy-the-Bear

I heard Danny Green is actually incredibly underrated. But I still think Wayne Ellington has the best chance to shine, considering he’ll probably start in Minny. That is, if the Wolves don’t start 2 pure point guards…

Hmm. I thought this guy was the boxer Danny Green.

    Cosign Z.
With LeBron on the floor he has to hit the open J, and then turn around and play tough D.
But Parker was signed for that very reason, and West was the only reliable player with LeBron in the playoffs. Moon will get hustle minutes, and Boobie/Mo Williams will eat up the PG minutes. Let’s not go crazy, here. He’ll get a few minutes here and there, but this guy isn’t stepping onto this team and commanding any time, other than the ones he slowly earns over many games.

Joemama…Gibson wasn’t even in the rotation by the time the playoffs rolled around..his minutes had dropped to half what they used to be. Danny Green-in a lot of ways-is like Anthony Parker. Just more athletic and TEN years younger. Dalonte West put up good numbers, and ideally would be the full-time 2, but has missed chunks of EVERY season with injuries.

I can see Danny Green having an incredibly productive season and playing a Courtney Lee-type role for the Cavs. He is the only reason that I wasn’t upset when the Cavs didn’t get Trevor Ariza. But I also don’t see where his minutes will come behind Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker. Either way, the three of them alone are upgrades over Delonte West, Wally Szcerbiak, Sasha Pavlovic, and Boobie Gibson. West played admirably last year, but the guy is 6’4″ and had no business guarding Turkoglu in the playoffs. Wally, Pavlovic, and Boobie? Get out of here. Of those three, only Boobie is worth a spot on the Cavs bench. The 12th spot, as a gunner for the second team who can knock down threes when Z kicks it out to the perimeter.

Tavoris, AP was signed specifically because he has ten more years of experience. He’s proven that he can hit the 3 and the one dribble jumper. He, along with West and Williams, averaged 30+ minutes a game. This is a veteran ball club that’s trying desperately to win everything NOW.
I like Green’s game, but to become a key cog in a potential NBA championship unit is asking alot.
