Sean May’s Contract Has Weight Incentives

Sounds like Sacramento has its *ss covered: “The Kings signed May to a one-year deal for $884,881, the veteran minimum for a player with four years’ experience. But according to a league official who has seen the contract, $100,000 of the deal is not guaranteed. May can get that $100,000 back if he shows up on either Sept. 30 (before the start of training camp) or Oct. 27 (before the start of the season) and, at either time, weighs 265 pounds or less.”

According to his NBA info page, he weights 266. It’s probably not up to date or accurate, though.

Joe: the NBA can’t actively keep up with Sean’s weight because whenever they send over someone to weigh him, May eats the dude.

    LMFAO Jukai.

This seems reasonable for a professional athlete to have to be in playing shape. It sucks nobody did this for E. Curry

  • JL

pretty sad when 265 is actually a target weight.

  • duncan21

Ha Jukai that was great. I cant believe dude doesnt realize staying in shape is a big part about staying in the NBA. If you cant keep up with the big boys then get outta the playground.

Wikipedia and NBA.com list him at 266. Somehow, I feel like if that were true, this wouldn’t be an incentive. Either that or his work ethic is absolutely pitiful that it takes 100 thou to lose a pound.

Wow , lets put Sacramento incharge of all the Weight loss schemes

  • Seven Duece

this is just sad. which is worse: he can’t get into shape to impress a new team though he’s only one a 1 year contract or they’re desperate enough to bring in an earth bound PF with a bum knee with weight problems who couldn’t even get a qualifying offer from first team that’s run by members of the most loyal alumni ever?

Weight incentives is exactly what he needs. He’s always been a pig. It’s gonna be tough for Sean “Chief Wiggum” May.

Whats sad is that one day, “The Biggest Loser” will need to do a ‘The Biggest Loser – NBA edition’.

Sean May, Oliver Miller, Pig Miller, Tim Hardaway…
