Sources: Rambis to Coach Minnesota

After taking their sweet time, the Minnesota L-Wolves are on the verge of hiring Kurt Rambis as their new coach. ESPN reports that the Wolves are planning a Tuesday news conference to announce the hire.  Mark Jackson was among the other final candidates.

i think rambis just took this job to get closer to mchale… at the most opertune moment he will get his revenge for what transpired over 25 years ago

good for sota. A former player that will preach some defense, I think Rambis will get some respect.

    He’s already issued team glasses.

Are the Wolves going to be running the triangle offense then? Anyone heard anything on that?

Is it wrong that my first thought was ‘oh. Ok then’?
I feel somewhat empty about this move, and I guess I’m ‘reaching out’ to anyone else who feels an odd sense of apathy towards not just this, but the entire Wolves organisation over the last 2-3 years.
I mean, good for Rambis for taking the job but… its, like, the Timberwolves? So… there’s that. Yeh.

The class of that scum McHale will always be there. Remember Joe Smith. Sliding Garnett to his true team. I’m glad of that now, I’ve been a Laker fan since 1966. I am glad that we were denied Garnett (Garnet?….look I don’t care how that animal’s name is spelled). The Lakers ended up getting Gasol, A player that I think works better in their system. I have totally lost respect for Rambis. First thing I would do is walk in and punch out McHale, then go about my job of guiding that team into the garbage can, where it belongs. Boy that Kevin McHale, sure assembled a great team. I hope they give Rambis a Humvee for the nice weather. Taking that job takes him out of the Laker head coach position when PJ steps down. Face it, it was probably going to come down to a choice between Rambis, Shaw and Byron, and with PJ already suggesting Rambis pick up some #1 guy experience as he suggested he be allowed to take some road games off, I would say he was the frontrunner. Notice….WAS…..now, his next headcoach job will probably be the Clippers if Sterling ever stops popping whatever he pops….wait, I think they were actually a profitable team, winning doesn’t matter with him, it is all about the money………Rambis sold his soul for the money, because the job will only detract from his steady progression as a potential head coach. As I see it, it wil be Shaw as head coach of the Lakers, with his assistants being, Hamblen, maybe Cooper, and maybe the unemployed Scott, because CP3 runs that team.

“opertune”…..that was a good joke….go watch your team get elimated in the first month….then start yakking.

Sad to see Rambis leave the Lakers. He’s been in LA for so long. Too bad he’s not heading to a better team, but I hope they do well together.

I still want Mark Jackson to get a head coaching job somewhere. As a Lakers fan I understand Rambis wanting to take advantage of this opportunity…who knows if PJAX will retire when the Lakers still have a chance to contend. I like their Flynn and Jefferson but it may be a couple of years before they can contend for a playoff spot.
