Aaron Gray: Out 6 to 8 Weeks

Bulls’ training camp is off to a bumpy start, as Aaron Gray is already on the chillin’ list after day one: “The Bulls suffered their first significant injury of the 2009-10 season Tuesday when team physician Brian Cole determined Aaron Gray has a stress fracture of his left fibula. An MRI confirmed Cole’s diagnosis. Gray is expected to miss six to eight weeks.”

Best story ever. Thank you slam for giving love to the second coming of Bryant “Big Country” Reeves.

Aaron Gray’s more important to the Bulls than people realize. He ain’t gonna come out and get you 20 and 10, but dude is (sadly) our best low-post scoring option, he’s a good rebounder, he’s tough, and he can give you good quality minutes off the bench. Plus, if either Noah or Miller go down while Gray is out, we’re looking at having to bring either 6’9″ power forward Taj Gibson or 6′ 9″ small forward James Johnson (BOTH rookies) off the bench to play the 5. No, we’re not losing a superstar but this loss will hurt, believe that.
