Danilo Gallinari Says He’s 100% Healthy

Gallo claims to want the pressure that comes with playing in New York: “Camp opens in two weeks at Skidmore College in Saratoga. A season ago Gallinari spent the entire time there on the sidelines, riding a stationary bike and stretching. And immediately the word ‘bust’ was whispered. It grew a little louder when Eric Gordon, another player on the Knick radar at No. 6 who eventually landed with the Clippers, had a solid rookie season. Gallinari is aware of it all. ‘I feel people want to see something from me,’ he admitted. ‘I will tell you,’ he later added, ‘I want to see the expectations. I want to feel the pressure because that’s what makes you a really good player.’”

the pdd thing is, in that same article the reporter says that he’s still growing. The guy is 21 - if you’re still growing at 21, you’re a medical wonder.

    Should’ve taken Gordon.

Growing at 21 isn’t unusual, let alone wonderous. I kept growing until 22 or 23, albeit maybe a centimetre or two a year, not the six or seven a year before that. Your bone plates usually don’t fuse until your early twenties if you’re male.

There are 2 guarantees this year:
    1. We play no defense
    2. No one boxes out and we give up at least 20 second point chances per year. I have the wonderful pleasure of having season tickets and I swear this team gives me heart attacks. I am hoping that this year maybe, just MAYBE things will change. People can say what they want this year but what I will say is that everyone is labeling Gallo a bust already blah blah. The kid can play no if’s, and’s or but’s. You watch him for extended periods of the time and this is the only player on the Knicks who always rotates properly, turns and actually boxes his man out when shots go up, plays the passing lanes and always seems to be in the right spot defensively. I will not talk about his offensive game because I think that will show up itself this year so I don’t have to sit here trying to defend the kid who played the whole season with that back problem. The kid is something, I love to see the confidence that he speaks with, let’s just hope he puts it all together because the tools certainly seem to be there. And whoever wants to nitpick what I just wrote go ahead. Even if you are a Knicks fan don’t tell me David Lee this David Lee that. No. The man is a product of the system. Do not get me wrong, I’d take DLee on a winning squad any day but as the 1st big man off the bench. Imagine him on a team like the Lakers or Spurs. His rebounding numbers mean nothing. If anyone really watched the Knicks on a night in and night out basis, how many times does he leave his man just to crash the boards meanwhile his guy slips to the hoop and gets an easy tap in when the ball bounces high or takes an off bounce..too many. And lets not even get started on his defensive rotations. Yes we play awful defense as a team, I appreciate DLee’s willingness to attempt to play defense, but it does no good when you set up to take charges in the restricted area 8 out of 10 times a game. But back to the subject..yes, Danilo Gallinari says he’s 100%, I believe he’s back to 100% and I think some people are really going to be in for a surprise, even us Knick fans.

Mike antoni summed it up pretty well. Saw snippets of danny boy playing last season, I agree he might shock a lot of naysayers.

Gallo + Chandler are going to explode this year. Watch.

co-sign Mike ‘Antoni.Gallinari has great fundamentals, and he is also the smartest player on roster

Should he be healthy… Watch out.
He’s certainly this team’s x-factor since he’s already been labeled “bust” (although it is way too early to judge)If he really steps up his game, I could see playoffs for the Knicks.

Did he play last year? Cos’ if he didn’t he’ll be arookie this year

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Sep.16 at 4:21 pm

  • YKnot Posted: Sep.16 at 4:50 pm

  • duncan21 Posted: Sep.16 at 5:16 pm
good boi, you gonna need it

  • Moose Posted: Sep.16 at 5:56 pm
    This is funny.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.16 at 7:36 pm
Gallo might be nice, but we haven’t seen much yet. And Eric Gordon would have been a way better selection.

  • mike Posted: Sep.16 at 9:19 pm
the only thing funny is how bad this guy is gonna surprise people moose

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.16 at 10:05 pm
    100% healthy, 50% capable?

  • Seven deuce Posted: Sep.17 at 12:12 am
Obviously he was hurt last year, but what I saw on League Pass didn’t have me ordering his jersey. Hope he does well as he’s at least exhibiting the traits of a leader by accepting the pressure. Now if he could rally the troops to play a modicum of defense, I’d let that corny nickname pass. Where’s Bobbito when you need him?

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.17 at 12:14 am
    I’m thinking…
    9.7 ppg
    4.3 rpg
    2.8 apg

  • Bo Diddly Posted: Sep.17 at 4:28 am
Dacre - Are you crazy?! He WILL avg: 9.45 ppg
    3.456J rpg
    80081E.5 apg
    Get it correct.

    Gallo faje er culo!!!!

  • Enigmatic Posted: Sep.17 at 9:34 pm
This time last year the starting 3 spot was his, now he’s gonna have to battle Chandler for it. Not a bad problem to have for Knicks management.
