Jackson asked Vujacic to cut his hair

In an attempt to give Sasha Vujacic a fresh start at training camp, Coach Phil Jackson said today he asked the backup guard to cut his flowing locks. Vujacic complied.

Said Jackson: “Last year, Sasha got injured on the first day of training camp and it literally limited him for three weeks. So he got off to a bad start and never recovered. So we’ve asked him to cut his hair and he did. He’s going to have a new look. I think it’s a total fresh start. I think Sasha played with his hair more than he played on the court (last season).”

    Is there some hiden logic in this, which I am missing? Could someone please explain? Nobody seems to question this very interesting line of logical thinking.

    Jackson asked the same thing from Dennis Rodman. As a reaction Rodman kicked a cameraman and got suspended for 11 games. “There’s your anwer.” he said to Phil Jackson.

    Long hair is a symbol of retaining your past. Cutting it is a symbol of breaking with the past. Hence, Voya cutting his hair means they’re trying to turn over a leaf, to mix our metaphors.

    I don’t understand why any athlete would have long hair. It just doesn’t make sense. It gets in the way and probably smells like doo doo. Hopefully now Sasha will make his wide open 3′s. Good call Phil.

    When I made my college basketball team as a walk-on my coach made me cut my hair. It didn’t make me any better but it showed my teammates that I was committed to the team.
