Kobe Claims That He’d Play in China

Ok, Kob. Whatever you say: “Bryant would be willing to consider playing in a Chinese basketball league, he said at a later press event. ‘I love playing, it’s something I’m open to,’ he said. Former NBA players began streaming onto teams in the Chinese Basketball Association after the league lifted some restrictions on foreign players last year.”

Z I know he didn’t. But it wasn’t a Stevie Franchise moment. But also, before the seson starts I don’t want to hear no egotisical comments lol. He’s the champ. FACK off Justin!! :D

I think he means he might in a few years when he gets older. Chinese fans love him, he is way more popular than Lebron or anyone else in China. The comment will help him sell more shoes of course, but I think he meant it, just not when he’s still at the top of his game.

Kobe’s learned to be much more of a team player, he used to be a ball hog but like Jordan learned you have to make some sacrifices to win.

If you actually read the article, he says he would play in China but not until his Nba career is over.

  • heartlandG

Kobe bigg ball dance @ Justin

  • Skaye

We Chinese don’t take it serious. We all know that is impossible, even he doesn’t play in NBA.

  • Josh D

The Chinese Basketball League would never be able to pay for Kobe

He’s always pondered about playing overseas. The fans recieve him better overseas especially China. I don’t blame him, American fans treat him like shit and have for 13 seasons. If he did bolt for China I’d support him. I wish he would’ve did it earlier in his career though when the other young players weren’t in the league, I would’ve been cheesing extra hard lol. Laughing.

@CT. Kobe will end his NBA career with the Lakers. Look at all the talent around him. He knows that he has all the assets to win another title, and if everything goes well maybe a couple more with them. But the man loves basketball and i think that when he decides to retire from the NBA he might actually go to China. Think about it tho. This man has been up against some greats in his career and came away with plenty of victories, if he decided to go in later years there still wouldnt be a player over there that could stop him. The NBA has the best talent in the world. It would be like Kobe playin a bunch of high schoolers.

  • OneStep

Despite his on-court greatness KB has never had anything interesting to say. He is the anti-Jordan personality-wise. This is just him continuing to be lame in that regard.

  • http://slamonline.com Niya-girl-fresh

Kobe does have personality he’s consumed in “basketball” much like Micheal was (I’m not trying to intentionally compare them, because I’m tired of players being compared to MJ) ask people off court how MJ is, very different different than the manufactored image the media gave him to be. And even on court Mike was all about basketball and a bit demanding. You didn’t hear him speak at the HOF he said he did whatever he wanted to do to win even if that meant playing 1 on 5, now when Kobe does that it’s called ball hog and being selfish and wanting the spot light to himself but when MJ does it it’s called being a warrior and greatness. That’s why MJ excelled individualy because no one criticsized the way he played, unlike people do Kobe and Kobe listens to the nay sayers and has to adjust to what the fans want to see him play like and what the media wants to see him play like because of the pickiness and please the nay sayers. MJ didn’t have that because back then no one cared they just wanted to see dynastys and greatness and MJ surely didn’t care what people thought, Kobe had that attitude but the media and certain fans kept picking him apart. Mj was arrogant about his game and what he did on the court he even showed that in his HOF speech and I love that about him. Players are too soft now-a-days worrying about what people think. Either that or the public/sports culture has become more picky, biased and brutal for no logical reason.

  • chintao

I do dig that Anton. Anyway, Kobe needs to stay on his side of the Pacific. He don’t want it over here. Dudes down at Dongdan will break him off.

Well its not the first time Kobe has been hoping to play out of USA.He should also come to europe to play.Like Finland.Pippen and Rodman played here and now these guys around here are trying to get MJ.

  • Justin

@James the faller – did I get to you? Haha calm down junior, take a few deep breaths and relax. Kobe doesn’t know you or care about you, nor does he the people of China.
