Nuggets Sign Graham

The Denver Nuggets will sign Graham, who averaged 7.7 points last season with Toronto, to a one-year non-guaranteed contract worth $884,881. Sources confirmed the deal. Nuggets guard J.R. Smith said he has heard Graham will sign, and called him “really athletic.”

My 1st first! Yeahhhhhhhh! Not a bad move by the Nugs, could come in handy, especially with a non-guaranteed contract.

You can at least bother to say his name is Joey Graham instead of having to make the reader um, read, the url.
Joey Graham can play, he was a force in college, but just never quite “got it” while he was in Toronto and part of that was because he never got consistent PT.

  • Harry Taint

He never got any consistent PT? he started for a season he started in the playoffs against New Jersey…he is brutal…thank god I never have to see him in a Raptors uniform again. He signed a non guarenteed contract…he’s not making the team…he is a waste of $884,881….well adios Joey “THE KID” GRAHAM…don’t let the door hit you on the way out..

so jealous of the nugs fans. a mile closer to my 2nd fav team. enjoy him…we loved him in TO…and we never had him at that bargain bin price..

It didn’t quite work out for Joey Graham in Toronto but it’s nice to see him get on another team before training camp.

Aww. I’m going to miss him even though he didn’t really pan out in TO.

  • Flight

wtf kinda contract is $884, 881. That is brutal!

  • James aka…

He’s a stone head, which as mentioned above, means that he’ll never get major PT. if you look at his stats you think “shoots a high percentage, seems to play defence…Hell, he’s even strong enough to check dwight in the post (im not exagerating)”. You see this and wonder “he’s a steal”. then you watch him blow defensive assignment after defensive assignment, you watch him dribble the ball like it was made of concrete, you watch him run around aimlessly in an offensive set and then you get it. Not to hate on him because its nice to see him get a contract, but he’s always going to be on the end of the bench.

lol@flight. Not just $884,880. The extra dollar made the deal.

One of the strongest guys in the NBA, If only he could put it all together. He should have became a football player.

F Lebron, i want an all Nuggets dunk contest at the ASG.

  • tavoris

Flight, that still is over 10K a freaking game. don’t feel bad for the man

  • Anony Mous

^is that what flight meant? I though he was just commenting on how it was such an odd number… like how they could have called it $900,000 even.

The raptors have officially gotten nothing in return for VC, graham has a lot of potential but just doesnt get it. To be honest we should release either marcus banks or jake voshkul to make room for this guy, i can see him being a solid wing in a couple years

if joey signed with the Bobcats and Flip signed with the Nuggets, stuff would have made A LOT more sense.

  • Shem

@BETCATS: joey with the bobcats would make more sense but the nuggets have a top 5 guard in billups, they just drafted ty lawson, they have a veteran in anthony carter, they already have a combo guard in aaron afflalo. So 5 pgs is kinda pushing it (they also let balkman run the point but thats another story)

  • Jess

I’m happy for Joey…I hope he does well in Denver and that he can finally stay consistent…he’s got tons of potential but that raps couldn’t wait any longer-great guy…I’m excited for Denver this season!!!

  • ab_40

uhm unlike the rapotrs the nuggets got great leaders he can look up to in billups and anthony if he can be productive for 10 to 15 minutes per game with a 10 and 5 input here and there this folks.. is a steal. now let the raps sign his twin and see if the casual fan sees the difference.

  • Buschfire

no great leaders? in 2005 when he was drafted by the Raptors he was playing with Antonio Davis, Jalen Rose, Chris Bosh,Morris Peterson, Charlie Villanueva Jose Calderon and Alvin Williams who is now an assitant coach with the raptors…. He is a great player, and he did get his chances at consistant minutes, he was just too inconsistant…its a shame because as everyone else was saying he has amazing athleticism… and i’ve seen his twin play… i know how much better Joey is. I’m happy that he’ll get an oppurtunity to further develop his skills and consitancy signing with a decent team…good luk Joey

    Good luck Joey!
Man the Raps have had some decent players over the years. Jalen Rose being one of my favorites actually.
