Suns Set Pavlovic Free, Wolves Pounce

Phoenix bought out the forward’s contract, making him a free agent for about a nanosecond: “After completing a buyout with the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, guard Sasha Pavlovic has agreed in principle on a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources said. Pavlovic, 25, was traded to the Suns with Ben Wallace in the Shaquille O’Neal trade in June. He played five seasons with the Cavaliers before the deal. With proceeds from the Suns buyout, Pavlovic will make $2.75 million this season.”

Who would have thought? Kahn signs an 2 guard and not a point…

I like the wolves moves… Sessions and Now Pav will help for now… Just temp moves, but Rambis and crew have something to work with… Kahn your making up for your draft blunder…

Sessions is the big news of the summer for the Wolves. Pavlovic never really impressed me.

I’ve always liked Pav. No idea why though

Pavlovic is a solid player who can help both on offense and d. Great pick-up and it’s a bargain for 1.5m.

He reminds me of Anthony Parker, who ironically is now with the Cavs. Btw, good for the Wolves.

For having watched more than half of the Cavs games in the last few years, Sasha actually got some skills. He can shoot, he can defend, he can get up some and he can get to the rim with surprising ease as well. The only problem is that he never finishes. Never. He’s also turnover prone because he’ll try the fancy stuff in traffic. Mike Brown had kind of a lover/hate relationship with Sasha where he would give him 20+ minutes for a good strech of games and then sit him out for 2 weeks. Bottom line is Cleveland doesn’t have the luxury of him learning through his mistakes in game-situation.

They couldn’t throw that money at Iverson? Man, I really wish Simmons got this GM gig. If you are a bad team, at least be interesting.

he looks like the lead guy in 28 days later.

Excellent signing in my opinion. For a team lacking consistent shooting, Pavlovic can light it up with a good amount of playing time and he will get plenty of it here. I could understand why he wouldn’t want to go to the Knicks, it may be too much pressure for him.

He’s still only 25?! Coulda swore he was like in his 7th or 8th season already. Lord knows, he hasn’t done much yet. Come to think of it 85% of the Euro dudes haven’t.

The Wolves have actually made solid moves, and I stick by the feeling that stashing Rubio for 2-3 years isn’t a bad thing. You’ll see. The Wolves are a free agent acquisition away from being a legit team. Oh, and what do we have next season, only the best free agent class ever! While I’m sure they won’t be in the Lebron sweepstakes, there are still the Michael Redd’s of the world out there, who I cannot see staying with the Bucks. Wolves in 2012!
