T-Wolves Waive Chucky Atkins

One less soldier for David Khan point-guard army: “The Wolves on Tuesday waived veteran guard Chucky Atkins, agreeing to pay him the due $760,000 for a $3.48 million contract that was most non-guaranteed. That cost savings is why Kahn traded Etan Thomas and two future second-round picks to Oklahoma City in late July for Atkins and Damien Wilkins … Also expect veteran center and former Timberwolf Mark Blount - and his $7.96 million expiring contract - to be waived in the next week.”

He could have been a solid mentor for Flynn, I think.

Right, I totally missed the Sessions signing two weeks ago. Damn holiday trips abroad!
Anyway, then it makes more sense.

I don’t understand anything Kahn does but if it pans out then whatever.

I can almost guarantee Kahn’s plan will not pan out. I mean, his first plan was to start Rubio and Flynn. If that is plan A, plan B C or D (whichever they are on now) has to be pretty freaking bad…

Atkins might be a good pickup for the Celts. Can a team pick up Blount & then waive him just for his contract? Or do they have to carry him on their roster?

I agree with Clyde - the Celtics could use Atkins behind Rondo. In Minny, is Sessions actually gonna come off the bench for Flynn? How is that gonna work?

Atkins in a Celts jersey is a solid idea!!!

Clyde, Any team can take Mark Blount for the veterans minimum, he’s agent is ’shopping’ around - trying to find a team that would give him some decent court time! I’d like him to come to PHX and learn to run fast and chase for offensive boards!

atkins to celtics sounds fine, but do we really want them to get much better??

Atkins should go to the Pistons. They have .5 of a PG right now in Stuckey.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind having him back in the D.
