TJ Ford Has to Deliver Now

His main competition for playing time is no longer on the team, and the pressure to produce is now squarely on Ford’s shoulders: “Jarrett Jack is with the Toronto Raptors, and team officials let Ford know early in the offseason that he’s the starter. Earl Watson who signed a one-year deal, will be his backup. Now it’s up to Ford to produce. ‘It’s about being consistent,’ Ford said. ‘I have a good feel for the guys now. I’m just trying to do everything possible to get into the playoffs. That’s the biggest thing for me. I don’t want to miss it two years in a row. Just try to do whatever it takes to win; whether it’s offensively or even defensively.”‘

Or even defensively? That’s the problem right there! Did Tinsley get his walking papers?

I’m so glad Jarret Jack decided to join the Raptors!

Im a big raps fan, when we had tj starting he was great. He was the guy that would put up a shot at the end of the shotclock or create or lock up the quick guard. Hes a great player and he ll do great this year

for the first time TJ wont have to look over his shoulder and worry about his starting job… lets see how he responds.

Well, it would be nice to see Ford having some success. The player and the one with four wheels

i hope he gets a decent outside shot //

What do you mean Gerard? I love the Taurus!

As a raptors fan, i watched TJ Ford over-penetrate and throw up wild shots enough times to know an un-checked TJ Ford is a frustrating one. Also, he has a banana neck.

I like Ford by his D and health are always going to be questions. Being a skinny 5’10″ (maybe) in this league must be rough.

Not a big fan. He often tries moves à la Tony P, AI or Nash in the lane but doesn’t have nearly the same finishing abilities. For some reason he also thinks that he can dunk on mofos. Those attemps have not been met with success so far.

well the guy lacks inside scoring and maybe bulk…

  • jdn41 Posted: Sep.29 at 2:32 pm
but makes up for it in heart… dude plays great for a dude 5’10 give him some slack hope you do good TJ

this is a guy who helped lead the Bucks to the playoffs in his 1st season(he didnt play in the playoffs but the team was 29-26 w/ him, and finished 41-41), had a horrible neck injury, came back and led another weak Bucks team to the playoffs(he and Redd combined for an amazing Game 2 win vs. Det), then was traded to the Rapts and helped Bosh lead T.O. to the Playoffs and the teams best record, he was injured throughout 2008 but still helped limp to the 7th seed, then traded again, and for the 1st season of his career, his team didnt make the playoffs. T.J. Ford is an amazing talent, small body, big heart, and simply a winner, he has his flaws but look out for him this year the PG tandem of Ford and Watson will get Granger and the Pacers easy buckets, i definitly see the Pacers making the playoffs.

I like T.J. he just has to avoid landing on his back, but he’s a pretty decent player. He just needs to finally develop that special game he’s yet to develop. I know he has it, he just has to prove it, I’m sure he can. His game is a little laggy but I’m sure once he gets the proper play time he deserves he’ll shine.

My gripe is, why are you mad that you have another dude taking your starting spot? If you can’t beat the guy out, then who’s fault is that? TJ had a better feel for the game when he first came in versus how he plays now. I’m not sure if that’s because he feels he wants to get some individual shine or what, but his true pass first, pass lane defense persona has done a 180.
