Emeka Okafor Discusses Trade

Emeka has no hard feelings about leaving Charlotte, and says he misses Larry Brown: “He’s excited about joining the Hornets, knowing this just about assures him a playoff appearance next spring. But he wishes he’d had more time playing for Bobcats coach Larry Brown. ‘A great teacher, a great coach,’ Okafor said. ‘I regret only having one year with him.’”

Bobcats will regret this trade for a Big Toe I get hurt 180 pound center. WOW, Bobcats were robbed, now that I look at it.

I agree, I think this was a bad trade for the Cats.

    Is Okafor injured right now?

  • mdshuai33

It was a bad trade for both teams.

The Seed…the trade was about getting rid fo Okafor’s future salary. Bob has been tryin to seel the team for almost a year now. Chandler is the most value they could have gotten.

This trade is going to make the Bobcats more exciting to watch but they are just a team full of athletes not a team full of basketball players. They’ve got a lot of potential though. The trade also makes the Hornets more fundamentally sound,I think they have a lot better of a chance to make it deep into the playoffs with Okafor holding it down in the post.Injuries aside he is a very solid contributor.

Jake pretty much summed it up for me…The Bobcats beat the Hornets last night btw

I dunno what were Bobcats and Hornets thinking on that trade.Chris Paul played great with Tyson and i dont think he can do it that well with Okafor.

  • NUPE

this doesn’t speak well for what he thinks about his new team or coach.

  • Bob

I HATE when people claim that the Hornets became worse off with this trade. Chandler played FORTY-FIVE GAMES LAST YEAR. He was not healthy at all. Whether or not Okafor will be a better fit than a healthy Chandler remains to be seen, but I know for sure that he’s better than forty-five games of a hobbled Tyson Chandler.

This was a great trade for the Bobcats, they cut salary, got more athletic, and a vocal leader and great rebounder. Okafur is solid, but over paid both guys are injury prone so its even there.

  • Jay-G

This trade seems like a win-win to me. Both guys have shown to be injury prone.

  • Cameron

How is Emeka injury prone? He’s played in all 82 games for the last 2 years and his only down year was his sophmore year. With Emeka, at least you know your getting a double double mostly every night and not 8 ppg and someone who’s never played in all 82 games.

  • flippity

agree with Cameron. I don’t know where people are getting that Okafor is injury prone. I had him on my fantasy team last year and he was one of my most dependable guys.
