Grizz: Refs Favored Dwight Howard

Just because it’s the preseason, doesn’t mean allegations of favoritism aren’t flying around: “Rookie Grizzlies center Hasheem Thabeet, 7 feet 3, picked up two quick fouls in the first few minutes, wrapping his arms around Howard in an attempt to stop him on the first play. ‘Dwight Howard’s a great player and Thabeet didn’t get a fair share of the calls right from the start of the game,’ Hollins said. ‘It’s not Dwight Howard against Thabeet — it’s us against the Orlando Magic.’ Howard, who usually doesn’t think he ever gets a break from the officials, said incredulously, ‘Are you kidding? Somebody said I was getting calls?”‘

Moose: Yeah, probably. But stop crying about it.

    This is T-Mac’s fault.

Those gotdamn replacement refs are ruining everything.

  • E

thabeet need to b in the weight room eatin some grits n biscuits

  • Erik

these replacement refs are keeping the NBA running…even its not as good as it should be , it must be better than not at all

  • LeoneL

Just wait until you play the Cavs.

  • rainman10

Yes, because the calls are the only advantage Howard has on Thabeet. Come on now.

  • ENDS

Yeah you don’t waana know what happens if you look at the King the wrong way. Dwights always getting screwed by the refs: the Block on LeBron clean from Behind in game 3, the Countless T’s For showing muscles or celebrating by himself. Plus the “I saw nothing” after Mo Will chucked the Rock at him. Classic. Maybe these Refs are aww inspired and Dwight Will get All Star calls now…I wont hold my Breath

Didn’t Thabeet get some blocks on Dwight though? It can’t be that bad. llol

until you foul out you big crybaby

The cavs/Bron, get the MOST calls I have ever seen. Everything ENDS said, plus the offensive fouls Lebron was doing and it was called blocking on the defender I don’t know how many times.
My buddy was huge Lebron fan until he started complaining 40 times a game. One game inpaticular, Bron got hit in the shoulder and held his head until he seen he had free throws comin’. Then he was alright. Every game man … it is getting ridiculous. 260 pounds of b1tch!!!

  • sab

JtB, you may only be 100 pounds of b1tch, but you whine 2.6 times as much as LeBron does, so it evens out…

  • dma

so his second foul was an intentional foul, but it wasn’t fair he got called for it? thabeet already sounding like a b1tch and the season hasn’t even started. zach randolph must not be sharing his greens

    @Jukai: Old meme is old

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Haha I remember the Mo Williams “chuck the ball at Dwight and act like it didn’t happen because the refs will support the Cavs either way.” It was probably both funny and frustrating for the Magics.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

    Ummm, good one sab?
lol I agree Teddy. Funny siht!!

  • rog123

I guess bron is the only guy who argues calls.

  • rog123

How come when lebron argues a call he is crying? But when kobe or mj or wade does it, they are intense and in the zone and doing what it takes to win?

  • Vikturus

    So true ENDS.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Canuck

    I cosign rog123 100%.

  • Nickthequick

For those already going at Thabeet, FYI its not him who made those comments. It’s his coach that did. Yes, he needs to gain 15X3 lbs of muscle and yes, he should get tougher to survive in this league and yes, he may feel on the short end of the ref’s whistle but he’s not the one making those comments – it’s his coach.

  • Rusty

until you foul out you big crybaby

  • Shem

maybe if thabeet ate more D12 brownies, he d be able to keep up

  • sab

i can’t wait to see James prove my point when LeBron gets named #1 in the top 50, and James posts 20+ times on why Kobe’s better…

  • Scu11y

The kobe/lebron debate will continue but kobe is getting his 4th ring when the season opens and for that reason he’ll be number 1.

These Scab Refs need to go. It’s time for the league to realize reality and let the referees keep their benefits and games. These billionaire owners need to chill.
