Iverson May Be Out 3 Weeks

An MRI has reveled that Allen has a partially torn hamstring, and will have to sit out a few weeks: “Very disappointing,’ said Iverson, a 10-time NBA All-Star and one of the team’s key offseason acquisitions. ‘My whole thing is trying to make something positive out of a negative situation, and the way I see it is, I’m glad it’s happening right now than during the season. So that’s the only positive I can take out of the whole situation.’ Iverson suffered the injury coming to a jump stop during the team’s open intrasquad scrimmage at Birmingham Southern College on Sunday. He said the entire back of his leg turned ‘black and purple,’ and he underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning that revealed the damage.”

There were already questions about him meshing with the new team. Missing preseason is not going to help things.

Maybe he doesn’t want to be seen coming off the bench during pre season games. How come athletes are always projected to comeback for primetime events like Season Openers, Playoffs, AllStar games, and games in their hometowns?
