Knicks to Curry: No Fatties Allowed

Reportedly, Eddy must shed a lot of weight before he’s allowed to don the blue and orange uniform again: “Patrick Ewing stands a better chance of suiting up for the Knicks next week in Miami than Eddy Curry. Curry, the team’s out-of-shape center who was banished from practicing with his teammates two weeks ago, must meet a certain weight before he will be allowed to rejoin the Knicks. According to a source close to the team, Garden Chairman James Dolan was involved in the decision to keep Curry away from the Knicks until he improved his conditioning … According to a source, Curry has lost weight, but the feeling is that he will have to get down to between 305 and 310 pounds before he can rejoin the team. Curry, 26, is the Knicks’ second highest-paid player this season, earning $10.5 million.”

According to NBA.com, Eddy Curry weighs 295 lbs. Is it just me or is there something wrong with the math?

Last report from his trainer had Curry around 340 or 350 if I’m not mistaken.

There are clauses in standard contracts that prohibit players from doing stuff like riding motorcycles, snowboarding, water skiing, etc. These clauses are in place so players don’t injure themselves doing something stupid during the off-season. Aren’t there clauses that state that the players have to be in good enough shape to actually play basketball? Forget good enough shape to play at the NBA level, but don’t these guys need to be in good enough shape to at least run up and down the floor without hurting themselves? Can NY void his contract for being chronically out of shape?

No muscle, and is heavier than Shaq. Damn, why did i try so hard to become a good basketball player when all i had to do was gain 140 pounds of fat. Dude shouldn’t weigh more than 260 pounds period. I know i’m preaching to the choir, but what a slob…

Eddy’s the new Stephon Marbury — talked about incessantly despite the fact that he’ll probably never suit up for the Knicks again.

      I wouldn’t call it “earning” 10.5 million.

isn’t he the least bit motivated to get in shape? and to think eddy curry supposedly has a heart condition.

    • Don Posted: Oct.21 at 9:59 pm
EDDY’s only 26? seems like he’s been there forever,….in the bench.

There’s always a liposuction procedure, Mr. Curry. It’ll be the fastest way. but then again, the clinic that does that has a McDonalds in front of it.
