Larry Bird’s Last Season in Indiana?

Word in rumor-ville is that for Larry Legend, this may be his last go-around in Indianapolis: “Agreed, it’s hard to imagine Larry Bird walking away from a multi-million contract that has one year remaining after this one. Nevertheless, two NBA management sources, one inside the Pacers organization and one former employee whose initials are not D.W., contend the team president will call it quits at the season’s conclusion — citing health and lack-of-enjoyment issues.”

“lack-of-enjoyment issues.” lol you can cite that? hahha. Reason for quitting, “lack-of-enjoyment issues.”

I’d rather have him quit now and bring someone else in who is really engaged and committed to the team than somone who has health issues (understandable) and ‘lack of enjoyment issues’ (bothersome for an owner/ team mgt perspoective i’m sure).

What’s next for Larry, then? Headlining the 2010 Lilith Fair?

I’m shocked he lasted this long. For all of his brilliance on the court, like a lot of ex All Stars, his GM work hasn’t been all that great. (Outside of picking Granger, who others were crazy to pass up…).

Larry Bird. Great Player. Terrible GM on a terrible team what else can i say
