Maybe if Yi steps it up this year…

  • Seth Posted: Oct.8 at 1:39 pm
If Yi Jianlian’s jersey is gonna make the list, I would think it should be offered in the NBA.com store at least… which it isn’t.

So let me get this straight, these chinese dudes r such a big fan of Yi that they vote for him over and over again in All Star, but they can’t be assed to go out and buy his jersey?

arenas’ jersey sales ranking amazes me considering how much we’ve actually seen him play the past two years.

  • Jukai Posted: Oct.8 at 6:04 pm
    fantastic, neorin!

  • youngmuggsy Posted: Oct.8 at 6:05 pm
Who the hell bought a Gilbert Arenas jersey last season?

  • youngmuggsy Posted: Oct.8 at 7:13 pm
Jukai: That may be true but parker’s mid-range J is dangerous enough to keep the defense honest and for a slasher that’s all that matters.

  • youngmuggsy Posted: Oct.8 at 7:14 pm
    whoops wrong comments page.

Kobe again. First it was Europe and now China, he got the East Coast on lock. Hey what about the Middle East ? They get the NBA there right? SLAM you should check the numbers.

Maybe Hibachi means ‘Buy my Jersey’ in Chinese.

  • fabio Posted: Oct.8 at 11:14 pm
    lol yay tmac

  • la huey Posted: Oct.9 at 1:42 am
    @ Danny W: japanese borrow/steal from chinese. not vice-versa

  • rob Posted: Oct.9 at 6:09 am
@ la huey relax on the japan/ china thing! @ Seth I’m sure they have Yi’s jersey on NBA China store no doubt, just not in the US NBA store. My personal opinion, although I’m a Yi fan being chinese, he’s really just not that good! (yet?) I mean who would buy the jersey of someone who averages 8points and 4 boards and plays on a small market team. It’s funny though, how after the age controversy (was he 19 or 22) and Yi insisting he did not fake his age, no one mentioned over the last 2 seasons “he’s playing well for a 19 or 20 year old!!”
I guess at the end of the day, when he begins to peak at 25+ we’ll see how good he is. Until then the (my) jury is out!

  • rob Posted: Oct.9 at 6:11 am
ps @nearin i think the reason why derrick rose is loved there is because he actually went to China and did a tour recently where they marketed him and d howard heavily

At one point, Tmac’s jersey was #1 in China for a few yrs. Obviously Yao’s jersey was #1 in China for a while. But by now, everyone that wants one got one already of these guys. So now you see the Leron and kobe jerseys being on top.

  • Paul Posted: Oct.12 at 2:05 am
    Rose at 12 isn’t a surprise. He’s the best [Chinese-looking] guard alive.
