S-Jax Promises Peace Against Kobe

Jackson would like to punch Bryant in the face, but he realizes that wouldn’t exactly be good for his career: “I’m going to be me, but I guarantee I won’t feed into the nonsense,’ Jackson said Monday. ‘If it came down to a real fight, I know what would happen. I’m just going to leave that alone, go out and play basketball and try to help my team win.’ The teams and the swingmen will meet at 7 p.m., the first time since Jackson faced Bryant on Oct. 9. Jackson said he thought Bryant was getting all of the calls, thought Bryant was playing ‘dirty,’ and thought his team didn’t back his arguments.”

Just in case it would be nice if one of the refs would pat him down before tip off.

  • Spartdog

That’s just because Ron Ron is there. He don’t want it with TruWarier

Jackson better be careful, his old buddy is with the Lakers now, and even with all that therapy, I bet he’s still waiting to throw down.

mmm is the story depper than we actually thought? he seems to really have a problem with kob on a personel level à la bron-deshawn.

  • http://dfkjslf.com Jukai

Z: Kobe throws elbows like a douchebag. Ask Raja Bell and Ron Artest (who freaking idolized the Kobster but was ready to tear his head off) how they felt getting constantly hit in the face and hearing birds chirping instead of whistles.
It pisses people off, and S-Jax was PO’d with his team situation to begin with.

kobe would punish the former capt jack…i guarantee

  • NUPE

I wonder if the replacement refs will actually call the elbows on Kobe. Everyone seems to realize he get’s away with it and to some extent all superstars get away with certain things. Maybe going to the refs before the game and putting a bug in their ear to watch out for something specific would have some impact. Again, maybe not, but talking about fighting etc, certainly won’t help his case.

  • Danny W UK

I’m wishing Kobe torches him for 82, 10, and 10.

  • http://dfkjslf.com Jukai

NUPE: Kobe was elbowing Jax THIS preseason and none of them were being called. That is what this whole thing is about.

  • Yesse

Kobe got a black belt in some martial art, cant remember which, but i really would bet my money on Kobe in that fight.

  • German Reignman

Kobe has a black belt in Mikado …

  • B-more Mike

Boy I hate those gangsta millionaires!!

  • JP

Stu Jack needs to step it up and look into this elbowing thing

  • kato storm

That write-up was a complete waste of time. The headline made it seem as though Jackson had come to his senses, and extended an ‘olive branch’ to clear the air before the season starts. Instead, this ignoramus is quoted trying to talk tough, as if this is MMA instead of basketball. No place for that in the league. Grow up, Stephen Jacka**.

  • BostonBaller

why is it the lesser of the two players that always spouts off?

  • Vish

because he is the lesser of the two players and needs to piggy back on kobe to get some airtime

  • Jake

I honestly think Kobe would kick his a$$.If he didn’t,Ron Ron and Fish would.Rule of thumb for NBA superstars, always have an enforcer.

S-Jax would kill kob in a real fight. Guaranteed!

  • Epsilon Nupe

The way Jackson was swinging at those fans in Detroit, he might give Kobe the Chris Childs treatment.

S-jax isnt a given in a street fight against kobe. jus cuz he’s ugly as hell and angry cuz his team sucks and they can never beat the lake show, doesnt mean he can beat up kobe. kb24 is a man jus like s- jax. he breathes the same air and bleeds red blood so we would jus have 2 c who would win a street fight. but the fight on the court, the only one that matters by the way hands down belongs 2 kobe. @least s-jax got kobe in san antonio otherwise he’d be 0 for 100.

  • riggs

lots of kobe a*s kissers in here today

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

Steve’s just mad ’cause he outscored Kobe in the McDonald’s game and it’s all been downhill since then.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

Man this is awsome. Kobe is such an idiot, worst basketball player ever, more dirty then Bowen, a pr1ck. Jax is sooo right, he would win in a fight because that reallllllyyyyyy matters.
lol f()ck some of ya’ll who hate on Kobe have the BEST comments to read.

  • http://realcavsfans.com Anton

Kob has a black belt in hotel management

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

WHo cares who would win a fight lol. Jax is a thug who is a f()Cking cry baby. The man is whining and now he is sour, talking about he knows he could be Kobe in a fight. Can you cook better then him to Jax or does that not matter?

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

And riggs your a Bron ball gobbler so no comments about people saying it doesn’t matter about fighting.

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

Does Hallmark make a “Sorry You’re Stuck On The Warriors And You Hate Your Life” card? Maybe I should check the Shoebox section.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

soleking, james.. based on how kobe ”shoved” chris childs and then got a 1-2 combo on the chin + the way jax was throwing haymakers in the stands in the D + sjax being an actual gang member in his youth… i’ll take my chances with s-jax in a street fight.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

should have red the comments and just co-sign epilson.

At least Anton didn’t have to invoke white women in his Kobe joke

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

@Z … not a “gang member” : O. Wow he can carry a gun and rob people who actually work for a living. GTFOH. Gang members. All the gang members I know are the ones who are ONLY tough when they have people with them. THIS IS BASKETBALL. Not MMA, not the streets of compton.

  • Kevin

I don’t think Kobe or Ron want it with S-Jax. Them Port Arthur boys really don’t play

  • lou

does no one remember chris childs two-piece on kobe? my money is on Jax.

  • kadavour

James rarely says anything intelligent, but i agree with him 100% on this: Gang members are only tough when they have people with them. That Gang sh!t is weak. And they ALL respect those who rise above the influence and do their own thing. I see it everyday. Touting S-Jax’s gang history counts for nothing except your own ignorance.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the balla

    Ummm, thanks Kadavour? lol

  • UnRel

everybody gets elbowed and throws elbows.. it’s part of the game.. every one of us has played with a player that we can call dirty.. and we just play on.. but what grown man talks about a ‘street fight?’… straight up.. stephen jackson needs to evaluate the influences of the people he keeps around him..

  • wiz

judging on prev. fights kobe has been in….hands down gotta go with captin jax

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

How many times do people have to complain that Kobe is dirty before people start considering the fact that maybe Kobe is dirty?
I gave him the benefit of the doubt with Raja because I wanted the Suns to lose, but since then Kobe has consistently been accused of throwing elbows and other cheap shots, and we’ve actually seen video evidence.
Personally, I think Jackson is lame for wanting Kobe to acknowledge him as a man, but I do understand his frustration for getting hit with elbows and then getting called for a foul.
