Surgery for Brandan Wright

The 22-year old forward is going under the knife, and will not touch a basketball for quite some time: “As expected, Brandan Wright will have surgery to repair damage to his left shooting shoulder, the Warriors announced before Sunday’s preseason lid lifter. The team didn’t set a timetable for the forward’s return, but recovery for such surgeries is usually between 4-6 months. Wright had his left shoulder dislocated on a hard foul during Friday’s scrimmage.”

what makes it even more painful is that the Warriors wanted to pick up his option so he’d stay with the team ’til 2011. But they decided to wait and see how he would play in the preseason, and would stay healthy during these games. And now this happens. So if he’s missing the entire season (and being out 6 months, well, he will) he’s a man without a contract coming off a tough injury (and it’s his shooting shoulder too). The summer of 2010 could be a tough one for Wright.

Should have never came out of school anyway… SMH (Vigorously). Good luck Brandan… Both in rehab and hopefully the continuation of a (hopefully) sucessful hoops career… (Questioning if the hoops career means in the NBA, but well see…)

Ouch, Gerard makes a good point. That’s just very unlucky for him.

Dude shoulda stayed in UNC. No way that skinny body could handle the NBA when he came out.

He made millions without even playing much, so I can only give but so much sympathy. If all you have to do is play basketball for a living, why is it so hard to find a weight room and the gym?

    *Applause* for Seven Deuce’s comment…
Why he has yet to build an NBA body is beyond me… You put in what you want to get out… so if he has yet to put in the time to get physically, mentally and emotionally ready to hoop by now…. It more than likely will never come! Just because your “True Blue” does not equate to NBA success… See: Ed Cota, Joe Forte, David Noel,(Brandan Wright), etc… Go Hard or GO HOME… Young fella

do the warriors have some kind of rare big guy draft picking disability? Ike diogu, Patrick obryant, Brandan wright (I know bobcats picked him but gsw gave up their franchise player for him)
