Bosh Wants Your Respect and Recognition

CB4 is tired of putting in the work, and yet continuing to be overlooked: “Seems Bosh has an ego after all. And it’s driving him. ‘Every day I turn on the TV and they’re talking about guys, especially my draft class, ’03 draft class, and this and that,’ he said. ‘They keep bringing up all these and I never hear my name, unless I’m like second honourable mention or something like that. I got tired of that. I don’t even think people know I’ve made all-star teams or know what I’ve done in this league.’ This is the new – vastly improved – Bosh talking, a guy with more consistent determination, greater bulk and numbers that place him among the very best in the NBA right now.”

    Who?

  • you already know.

well Bosh bring your team in the Conference final then you will hear your name.

  • http://fjkld.com Jukai

Oh, I just looked it up. Apparently this dude got drafted the same time as Lebron, Wade, and Carmello. Huh. Hey, does anyone know when the next Cavaliers game is?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

Wasn’t he that guy who got drafted after Darko Milicic awhile back?

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Bosh is one of the best players in this league right now. He’s also top 5 big men. I blame Shaq.

  • JRay

    Hahahahaha

  • Rod Stiffington

bosh is great…however…the guy is weak and is a due for some type of knee injury very soon

  • JoeMaMa

Teddy, couldn’t agree more. The fact that we’re losing only adds to his frustration. It’ll take a miracle to keep him…
Also, Teddy, I didn’t think Jennings would dominate like this, and you did. I concede the point. Well done.

  • cramzy

    Dwade-nba champ/finals mvp/scoring champ
    Lebron-trip to the finals/nba mvp
Melo-took Denver to WCFinals last year
    …Get ya numbers/wins/awards/playoffs up CB.

  • rikson

    Has it already….

  • JoeMaMa

another thing: when bosh turns on the TV, the talking heads are all over “where are they going next?” doesn’t this feel like bosh has just unabashedly thrown every team an open “please call me this summer?” devastating for raps fans.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I’ll give props to Bosh for actually staying in the weight room this summer and working on his obvious lack of strength. He’s drawing contact like crazy and I think he’s still leading the league in FTA per game.

  • Incubo

I like Chris Bosh, he is a great all around player and its tough to do all that damage and not get credit for it. It sucks mostly cause he plays for Toronto. Think he just wants recognition for being a great player and trying to bring a team up from nowhere. He came into the draft with some heavy hitters so he can’t expect a lot unless they go undefeated which is out of the question but as long as everyone else teams are doing so well he is going to have to drop 40 a couple of times to get his rep up. Cause 20-25 is normal in the league these days players are even coming off the bench to drop 30.

    @cramzy
you need numbers/wins/awards/playoffs to respect someone who has game? for a start dude got stats, hes around 24/10/2 with over a block a game in the last five or so seasons. as for the rest of those catergories, they are just really naive; wins are a team issue, awards go to a handful out of the 450ish in the L, so if your only going to respect a dozen or so players, well you going to missin out on helluva lot of talent… as for playoffs, well its the raps! not his fault he got drafted north of the border. cb4 lack of media recognition accounts to one thing; he is in canada… when he’s paired up with another all star next year people are going to be all up on him

  • http://slamonline.com/ niQ

Shouldn’t the fact that he’s actually BEEN in the Allstar Games be already enough recognition? I mean, people have to vote for him right?

  • JRay

niQ: Well as a canadian i disagree because everyone (that ive met) will root for raps and bosh subconsciously because he plays for our only team. So, he almost has canada’s vote for the all star game

  • JRay

What i mean is he only has OUR recognition.

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

The next Cavalier game is today at 7pm EST against the Pacers :)

  • NJ4Life

Damn, Ru Paul got a mean streak

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Play some better defense and take over some games in clutch time and maybe you will get more recognition.

  • Cizzo

Has a great argument, Bosh does I must agree but, He got to leave Toronto!!!!!

  • onions baby onions

Doesn’t this happen every year? Bosh should focus on stepping up and winning some games, he’s got a talented enough core around him,and he can whine all he wants when the season’s over. Complaining about lack of recognition at this point in the season does absolutely nothing to help his team. Plus, while I love his game, the reason he gets overlooked may not only because he’s up in Canada; he needs to stop the 5-10 game slumps that he’s been known to fall into. Melo, Lebron, Dwade etc. may have 1 or 2 bad performances in a row, but then they get back on track, whereas CB4 can put up 40 one night, then 15 the next 6 nights…and thats just not what wins you games

  • james

its because your soft and look like a dinosaur chris.
no one cares that hes a free agent next year the guys never gonna win a ring unless he gets at least 2 stars on his team. hes got a great team now and they cant win sh*t

  • wassup

i second what TADOne says.Im a big time raps fan and the reason i dont think he gets enough recognition is because he plays horrible D for the raps and he hasn’t been steppin up late in games at all.Although i will say this year he has been playin like an absolute monster for most of the games.

  • Exile

Bosh is damn good. Hope the disrespect keeps comming and he turns it into aggression (asn wins).

  • http://fjkld.com Jukai

You know, Lebron’s pretty good, but Wade and Carmelo are close. Who agrees?

  • cramzy

360vue, Im just saying if he wins, he gets the recognition and respect. The love fest back over Vince Carter back in those playoff runs kills the whole “he’s in Canada” argument. He’s not mentioned with Dwade,Bron, and Melo because he hasn’t done close to what they’ve done. That’s just the truth.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Jukai
Wade is close. Melo, not so much.

  • snasty10

@Rod stiffington, that was a real douche comment about the knee injury

  • Dfrance

It really shows you where a guys head is at when he’s concerned about who the talking heads on TV are discussing. How about worrying about winning some games???

  • http://www.euroleagueadventures.com Nick Gibson

If he leaves the Raptors, he’d be throwing away his distinction as the only player who looks like the mascot he represents. Mmm..shame.

  • http://myspace.com/rsaenz24 rog123

I think its because bosh’s game is not flashy or power like kobe, bron, wade. Look at tim duncan, he gets 1% of the credit he truly deserves. “BTW I am not comparing bosh to duncan as a player just that they are not given credit because the way they play”

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

Want recognition? Show you can compete in the playoffs. You don’t even have to win a series. You just need to show you can compete for 7 games in a playoff series. Last year’s Celts-Bulls series did more for Derrick Rose’s career than an entire season of smart plays and athletic dunks, even if they lost.

  • http://www.slamonline.com kh

Be a leader, play hard and win. Simple.
Some players just don’t have Batman capabilities. I hate to break it to you CB4, but it’s time to embrace your ‘Robin’ness.

  • matt

i don’t know how many times ive said this, but bosh is a POWER FORWARD, he’s not as exciting to watch, people always say,”Melo, ‘Bron, and Wade are better”, talent wise, maybe so, but bosh plays a very different position, for example, bosh doesn’t handle the ball all the time like wade does, also, bosh always has to compete with diesed mother fu****, wade is faster than all his opponents, melo and lebron are just crazy good, also, because of the whole DIFFERENT position than them, it’s like comparing a goalie or a defensemen in hockey to a winger or centremen, they’re not as flashy.

  • mar

Matt is smart and Bosh deserves props. a top 3 power forward for sure in the nba. hes like a hghly improved Zack randolf with insane foul drawing capibility and a bit faster and stronger.

  • http://www.sixers.com 360vue

@cramzy firstly this is the VC who did arguably the most exciting dunks night in night out since MJ…secondly, VC was a guard, not a power forward they always get sooooo much more hype… and the hype over the raps in 99-03 was purely focused on Vince, and not the talented but hardly exhilarating veterans that the coach surrounded him with, only this season can the Raps have said to have made similar moves to complement Bosh with such a group of players. Bosh has had to grind alot harder to give his Raps a modicum of respectability… thirdly VC had built up a MASSIVE name, he was ROY from the off, THAT dunk in olympics was sheer legendary, he was known as half man half amazing from his second year, enough said. Bosh has been unfortunately overshadowed by gargantuan players in his draft class. To say the fact hes in Canada, where barely anyones attention is ever focused, has contributed to a lack of recognition is MORE than legit

  • http://www.slamonline.com JL

nobody cares because he’s in Canada. Well he may be watching US tv, so they don’t talk really about a team in Toronto. Come back to the US teams and you’ll get to be popular. Maybe you’ll be cast in the next Ice Age!

  • http://None Mooch_32

I remember him talking big like this at the same time last year….and then suddenly his numbers took a huge drop….lets try to have one big season and then we’ll talk about him on the same level…Consistency CB4 is what you got missing from that class!

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    Heh, thanks Joe.
For people knocking Bosh’s game because of wins, you don’t have any credibility in judging his skills. Wins are a team effort, and if you’ve actually watched Raptors games, Bosh has done MORE than enough of his share night in and night out. He’s been averaging 27 and 12 this year–what more can you ask of the guy? The other day he put up 37 and 12, but the Raptors still lost.
Bosh isn’t one of the best players in the league because Andrea Bargnani is 7 feet tall and can’t rebound or play a lick of defense? Bosh is weak because Jose Calderon can’t hit a jumpshot? Bosh is soft because Turkoglu has a sore hip? Get real.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

JL, do you mean the US as in Utah? Minnesota? Oklahoma City? Memphis? Milwaukee? New Jersey swamp? Really?
I’ll tell you right now: Toronto is a great city. Its better, bigger, and more prosperous than 95% of America’s major cities.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

I shouldn’t get defensive though, I know you were just playing. All good.

  • Robb

Ru Paul yo got my recognition. You are a true showgirl.

  • Raptor-Looking-Dude

Lol the comments are hilarious especially the dude that said he looks like the mascot for the team he’s playing for.

And the Ru Paul comments, thanks to Shaqalier.

  • tavoris

    hahahahahaha…ya’ll r cooooooooooold.

  • tavoris

You’ll get ur recognition when u go to Mia next year. Gasol got NO love in Memphis, and is lauded in LA for being the same player. Ur time will come.

  • Mack

BOSH is putting up the best big man numbers in the NBA, nuff said

  • John

Look at KG in Minnesota, wasn’t he getting recognition for putting up big numbers but couldn’t get out of the first round till Cassell and Spree came. Bosh is putting up big numbers and is still getting hate on.

  • John

Everyone is describing Bosh as KG of before, I guy who put up big numbers and couldn’t win. However, KG get more recognition and the same should be for Bosh

  • Aaron

tavoris- “Gasol got NO love in Memphis, and is lauded in LA for being the same player. Ur time will come.”

    PREACH.
