Chris Paul Unhappy with Scott’s Firing

The season keeps getting more and more frustrating for CP-3. He wishes management would’ve at least called him up before giving the axe to his head coach: “Paul wasn’t happy with the decision, and he certainly wasn’t pleased with being caught off guard by the announcement. He said the Hornets should have sought his and West’s input before the decision was finalized. ‘I felt like, maybe somebody would have at least consulted with me and asked how I felt before it happened,’ Paul said by telephone Thursday night. ‘It’s not to get my approval, but we feel we should know about the decision before it takes place.’”

They can’t blame the coach for having to deal with bad players, except Chris of course.

  • Yesse

So am i.Its the GM’s fault, because Hornets suck. And now he wants to coach them too?He is driving this team to the bottom of the league.

how the hell can one man do everything!
especially a guy who’z only 6 feet tall!
even mike cudnt get anywhere without a supporting cast
    firing a coach is not a solution…
all they need to do is make some smart moves here and there.
TRADE PEJA for a young and athletic guard…
and have a run and gun offense
and on defense….okafor’s shot blocking and rebounding..along with paul’s quickness…

this team just doesn’t have the talent to be a contender. CP3 is an amazing player and thats about it. I wish byron would have gotten canned sooner because my sixers could surely use him

Agree with the posts above. Their backcourt other than CP3 is sub-par and they lack depth up front.

  • Jeronimo

This pretty much reminds me of last year’s Raptors when they fired Sam Mitchell.

    paul silas.

  • Marcos Zapater

That’s a major screw up. I thought CP was the one asking for the move, but if he didn’t even know and wasn’t for it?
    Stupid Hornets.
I think he’ll be traded before the end of the season.

Chris has been unhappy with a lot of things: Losing Chandler, Butler, and now Scotts. Sounds like he request a trade soon.

chris paul thinks he’s like kobe with the lakers in 04-05-06 being the owner and making all personal decisions. well he’s not and he isn’t on that level. I hope he demands a trade.just give away paul and west for Z and delonte west &then some and start rebuilding in new orleans.

  • Starchild

    ab_40,

    everything you said was retarded!

  • Exile

I don’t necissarily agree with Paul, but understand that he is frustrated. If you check out the N.O bench when they are playing… its pretty dead and depressing.

    I agree.

i am upset too by his firing! i feel as though they threw him under the bus!! a great teams starts with great players…we have seen this before with maurice cheeks…i just hope the best for scott &no offense to the team but they arent the best team out there! 2 years ago they did make it far with cp3 but now its on the players not the coach we shall see what bowers does

  • Joe A

Is there any coach that got treated as unfairly as Byron Scott? Dude led the Nets to back to back finals appearances before getting ran out of town the next season; then had the hornets overachieve for the past two seasons, but still gets fired.Anyway, I think the Bulls should hire him, Del Negro sucks and Scott works wonders with teams with great point guards and athletic big men

  • http://claydefayette@yahoo.com CDef28

ab 40, you don’t give away the best PG in the game who happens to be 24 years old. I’ll give Starchild the credit for saying you’re an idiot before I got to it.

  • CARTEL

Is CP3 mad because they fired B. SCOTT or is he just mad that he was left out of the decision process???…he could just be mad that he didnt get to advise them on what coach he would rather have BESIDES B. Scott…

  • Jacqueline Mitchell

Byron Scott did not deserve to be fired. The G.M. screwed up badly and now he’s scrambling to make it right. Well , Mr. Bower, you’re “right” is wrong.

  • Orlando Woolridge

Joe A, I too would LOVE to see Scott replace Del Negro. That would make me a happy man.

This can’t be right superfan bill simmons said they paul hates byron scott and he knows all he wrote the book on basketball. Book of? Whatever. He knows it all!

    CP3 to Cleveland

  • One Sun

Chris Paul is right 100% of the time. Except for this. Okay, so you’d think the Hornets would want their star guy to be happy but let’s be honest, CP3 was as sick of Scott as the rest of us.

  • LeoneL

‘It’s not to get my approval, but we feel we should know about the decision before it takes place.’

He just wanted to know what’s going down!

  • Clark

Who are all these noobs that keep saying CP3 to the Cavs? Are you kidding me. I’m not saying the Hornets GM is smart but c’mon, who are they the Grizzlies?

  • ab_40

come on now it isn’t even wishfull thinking from my part. but since 07 the hornets are on the decline and it’s bad to see because james posey was supposed to be that mising link that they didn’t have in those playoffs. but the hornets have a habit of making/drafting good point guards and letting them walk or trade them (bogues, davis) and I think paul is next. this year? probably not but if this continues for one or two years I can see him demanding a trade. he’ll probably opt out in 2012 or whenever he’s due to be a restricted free agent. I look forward to magic and byron scott sharing memories on tnt overtime or something like that. because that is what most sort of half young coaches do… broadcast

    Sam Mitchell.

  • http://myspace.com/mavus15 Mavus

Beginning of the end of CP3 in New Orleans… Don’t blame it on the coach, NO TEAM WITHOUT A SG or SF GOES ANYWHERE, some don’t with one!!! CP3 would average 12 to 13 assist if he had guys who could knock down WIDE open shots..

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

Chris Paul folds arms in protest.

  • Shem

This is terrible. Byron Scott is a great coach and doing it to start the season is bad (remember how the sam mitchell firing unfolded). If Chris Paul wants Byron Scott the hornets keep Byron Scott. He was involved on 50% of the field goals made last year (3rd player ever to do so) and this team is his team. They just keep on pissing him off

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    Chris paul just got INJURED!!

  • smackdat

@Dacre: yep, ankle injury……this will nooooooot eeeeeeend weeeeeeeell. kiss all playoff hopes goodbye

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

    ab_40= IDIOT

  • jrb

now that pauls injured, this season is soooo ovr for the hornets. Oh well, maybe chris can come to da knicks :)

  • roybot

New Orleans’ bad role players is gonna wear CP3 out like Minnesota did to KG and like this current Cleveland team is doing to LeBron

  • http://www.powerforward.nl JLP

And now CP3 is hurt… this franchise is going down, down, down, down. And the core problem? The quality of the players.

  • LeoneL

Well, Thornton’s looking good in the SG spot.

  • http://myspace.com/rsaenz24 rog123

They are very very talented. Chris is a top 5 talent, west and okafor are all star caliber, peja can still be affex they just don’t fit together.

  • you already know.

    Fire the Hornet G.M
