Did the Nets Deserve the Foul Call?

They seem to think so, after the apparent no-call on the game’s biggest play: “The Nets received a fair whistle in Wednesday night’s 82-79 defeat against Philly, but the officials took the fifth on the biggest play of the game: a gorgeous spin-back drive from Brook Lopez that drew a lot of contact on his arm from Sam Dalembert, down one with 13.9 seconds left. Just two players earlier, the Sixers got a very favorable call, and Marreese Speights completed the three-point play to give them the 80-79 lead. Lopez – and the entire arena – went ballistic over his non-call. But he didn’t complain in postgame. He left that to his teammates.”

i love brook, dude is a great player who keeps getting better.

Brook is our best player. better than harris. I just want this team to be whole again. If you can take the celts to the 4th and be neck and neck with Brook and 6 scrubs, what can you do with a whole team?

yes, grabbed jersey + smack in the face + final 10 seconds = a foul no matter who the player is. Replacement refs could have made that call.

He didn’t complain because he also travelled.

Harris+lopez+lebron+stoudmire=very very very great. Just sayin. 2010!

Any time Dalembert is in a potentially game changing situation he is going to do the wrong thing, so no doubt it was a foul.

But I am with you TADOne, Lopez definitely travelled on the play… before the foul.

guess tim donaghy was right mustve been the nba front office giving the refs a call to make the game winnable for the sixers

Call me biased, but it was a foul by Dalembert, no doubt. Watched the replay, and he clearly hit his arm. Raul Midon even noticed that.

    Sixers fan here.
    Sam fouled him twice.
Once on the arm, once on the head.
    No call.
I’d be pissed, too, if I were a NJN fan.
