Granger Tsk Tsk-ed for Ducking Media

Reporters in Indy were less than impressed with Danny’s decision not to feed them with a bunch of clichés after last night’s disheartening loss to the Nuggets: “This is what a leader does — what Danny Granger didn’t bother to do — after Tuesday night’s miserable effort against the Denver Nuggets, the Indiana Pacers’ third straight poor performance of this young season. A leader, the guy with the big contract, the face of the franchise, he sticks around after a lousy game and does his best to explain what just happened. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t have any answers for a 111-93 loss.”

This is pathetic, there should be a “hatred for the media” clause built into star players contracts that allow them to avoid the media post-game at least ten times.

  • Jacqueline Mitchell

He probably didn’t know what to say after such a lousy game.

reporter should get over it. you were there, draw your own conclusions. talk to the coach, ask some other players, look at a box score. that’s a hard stance to take because someone didn’t stick around after they got beat by a better team.

“Bla bla bla bla” Granger said, “Bla bla bla”.That’s what the readers want (These small things(“)). And it better be from the stars of the team, or at least the star of the particular game. That’s what sells and that’s why it ain’t as easy as “just asking the choach or some other players”.
Though I co sign what Jukai said, there should be times where you are able to sit one over.

he could have said we suck and will continue to suck because the franchise player is a small forward who shoots a lot of threes.

The media seems to think granger is avoiding them because he hates them. He was just mad because he lost. Any REAL competitor knows how hard it is to talk about losing.

    I bet he didn’t shake Dwight’s hand, either. What a d*ck.

  • knock knock

Please, yeah everyone hates losing….but it’s a media questionaire. Whats the big deal?? Lemme guess, whoever this ryan jones is.. he’s surely slurping on lebrons shlong. But forreal, would you duck the media ONLY after losing?? But happily answer questions if you just won on a three point shot at the buzzer..yeah thought so.

woah, big difference there Mr. Jones. Not wanting to do a press conference after a loss & not shaking an opponents hands after a loss is a different issue. What Lebron did was unsportsman like.

Ryans comment might have gone over tinas head.

    Surely.

If you look at the situation cloesly though and I’m talking some real between the lines stuff here, Granger Mouse, actually gave the reporters a better story to write up by NOT showing up for comments – the beat writers seem to have lost a step this season.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com.dacre Dacre

and knock knock, did a “no ones at home but the lights on” routine?

  • Jason Robinson

I mean seriously, get off the man’s d*ck, gee! The media gets mad when a man doesnt wanna talk. Big whoop! What has Danny done in his career to f*ck up the league? How many DUI’s or legal trouble has he caused? Exactly, shut the f up and let him correct himself. Jesus the media will do anything to keep there jobs.

  • Erik

The guy who wrote the article is a known @$$hole in Indy. He really should not be surprised that Granger did not want to talk to him. If I were on the Pacers, I’d be pissed too.

  • kobesbestfriend

Danny Granger is a bum and always will be!why in the world would a reporter want to talk to him?Earl Watson has better speaking skills than him anyways!!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Ryan Jones

    That’s true. I do.
