JR Smith: My Name is Not Earl

So JR Smith was ‘Earl Smith III‘ for about eight hours… and, maybe not coincidentally, he missed eight of his nine shots last night: “Earl Smith? That’s so eight hours ago. Nuggets guard J.R. Smith made a big proclamation Tuesday morning — from now on, he wanted to be called by his given name, Earl. But by game time Tuesday night, he was back to being J.R. “There was too much controversy with the switch,” Smith said after Denver’s 90-89 win in Chicago. “I got a lot of calls and text messages and e-mails. It wasn’t a good move.”

    That game was exciting last night, towards the end, Melo should be credited with another game winner … J.R. wasn’t that impressive he looked rusty, but he should regain his form. Being from Chicago and sitting in the nosebleeds it was hard to root for the Nuggets but made the best of it.

    @riggs JR Smith was suspended for the first 7 games of the season, the game against the bulls was his 1st game of the season so that’s why. He was suspended for driving recklessly in 2007.

    Actually, I was looking forward to seeing Earl Smith in my yahoo! basketball lineup. Oh well, at least it was fun while it lasted.
