Mike James Out 5 Weeks

The immortal Mike James has a broken finger: “The Wizards don’t have a roster spot available to move [assistant coach Sam Cassell] over a few spots over on the bench. But yet another injury forced Cassell into point guard duty in practice on Monday, when the Wizards realized that they would be without Mike James for the next four to five weeks with a fractured left ring finger. With his left hand covered in a black cast, James expressed his frustration to reporters with one loud curse word upon hearing the news. James said he injured himself last Saturday in practice and didn’t think it was anything serious.”

    tought break. would be interesting to see sam-i-am come in a play. He’s still in decent shape and his game certainly isn’t near what it use to be. But as a player/coach situation not a bad choice.

    Wiz have got to be the most injury cursed team in the NBA. Jamison’s out, Miller’s out, Arenas was out last 2 years…when the whole team is together this team will be dangerous, but i’m realizing that may never happen. Curse of Lez Boulez.

    Could Cassell literally just suit up next game? For no money? Like, would that be allowed?
