  sheed is a tool. turkododo? there was a borderline xenophobic undertone to his rant. he has always had it for the ”golden child” so that wasn’t surprising.

  I highly doubt he’ll win his appeal, but I agree with Sheed - he shouldn’t be fined for publc criticism of officials. I don’t think talking about the ‘golden child’ or ‘beyond borders’ players getting calls warrants a 30k fine. However the latter comment does sound xenophobic to a degree and I suspect that’s ther ‘real’ reason Stern came down like this.

  i watched most of that game, and in the third quarter, i genuinely found myself thinking that the refs were favoring the celtics during the most crucial stretch, when the game was tied and it got chippy. i know sheed will be sheed, but this is odd

  its true though he didnt criticise any refs he just criticised turk for floppping, which he clearly did do, theres no rule against that…
  also, turkododo isnt really xenophobia as hes turkish and theres no real negative connotation with doodoo and turks if im not mistaken its just sheed taking piss out of guys name, simple.

  @Ryan Kenney…yeah the refs are far more easy to T up Sheed then anyone else…he got the tech for saying and 1…the same game KG did the same exact thing and didn’t get a tech

  z, i hear you, but sheed’s game has always been more than just about stats. he brings a lot more than that, but i would agree that it won’t get him into the HOF. the NBA knows how horrible the refereeing is so they will always try to quell any criticism against it with ridiculous fines. that’s why the league always fights all of the replays/new technology that could be introduced. it’s going to highlight how often the refs get the wrong call. the referee favoritism won’t ever change. i saw a “foul” on d. wade the other night and i thought it was 2006 again.
