The Stephen Jackson nightmare has apparently come to an end in Golden State…And he’s now a Charlotte Bobcat. Eat your heart out, Larry Brown!
Yahoo! has the scoop:
“The Golden State Warriors have agreed in principle to send Stephen Jackson to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic, NBA sources said Monday morning.
The deal also would send Warriors guard Acie Law to the Bobcats.”
Vlad and Raja can come off the books at the end of the season, so the Warriors are killing two birds with one stone so to speak. And, well, Stephen Jackson is still owed close $30 million over three more seasons. Yikes
Michael Jordan the GM, ladies and germs.

New Orleans needs shooters, now needs coaching, and needs running big men. I love watching Chris Paul and hope things work out down in the Big Easy, but I have a feeling the Hornets will have a season like the Suns had last year…
Jackson’s contract is pretty big and he’s pretty volatile. I don’t see how that’s enticing to potential buyers.
I didn’t call you names, just never ever will understand calling Jax the “missing piece”. He’s a great role player, clearly evidenced by how he couldn’t handle being THE guy. I guess he can play 2nd fiddle to Wallace, which will put him in a better position. He wants to win, and he is a volume shooter. That won’t help you if you don’t have the pieces to win. I don’t care of Raja Bell EVER touches the court. He doesn’t NEED to score for us if he does play. He can assume Jax’s old role of being an annoying defender. Whose blaming Jackson for anything related to Baron, JRich, Barnes, whomever else you want to name? I’m certainly not. You’re such a lame, who is praising nellie???? Pleas find me one person, one warrior fan? I’m not. I can’t stand our management or coach. However, I’m glad we parted ways from ONE of those mistakes? Clearly reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit, is it? The Warriors are a disaster with a long way to go, but at least they’ve been relevant in recent years. How about those ‘cats? Jax going to bring you to the promised land? Exactly.
The fact that Jax will likely make the Bobcats significantly better in the meantime is an added bonus. But that doesn’t give them any reason to keep him after this season-especially if they are able to snag another player and/or a draft pick in the process. This is true for EVERY team in the NBA.
A Jackson/Wallace/Chandler front line has the potential to be a very strong defensive line-up which can contribute offensively.
Bobcats played it smart by securing a ‘star’ calibre player for this season/next season and beyond (potentially) rather than experiencing the failure of missing a big time free agent at the end of this season.
+ D.J has played turrible thus far, and with Acie Law gives Higgins (Jordan) the manouvering space to trade for a back-up PF since they would have 2 PG’s in Felton and Law, as well as a point forward in Jackson.
I don’t really see any negatives here for the ‘Cats. They got what they wanted, and to a lesser extent Jackson got what he wanted – out. Together they have the potential to be a strong wildcard calibre team like Philly of ’08, and Chicago of ’09.
PS – BET wins.
How come no one wanted to kick it with Jax when he tried to have a team bbq? Was that Nellie’s fault, too? Again, enjoy more 4-14 nights. Did anyone tell MJ that Jax was on the team yet?
