The Nets’ Latest Marketing Ploy

It began with opposing players’ jerseys, moved on to the rent-a-Net fiasco, and now they’re taking advantage of their ghastly 10-game losing streak: “The Nets are mad as heck and they aren’t going to take it anymore. They hope their fans are, too. Having lost their first 10 games of the season, the Nets have announced a ’10 Is Enough!’ promotion to boost attendance and hopefully give their team a lift. All season ticketholders will receive two extra tickets for Tuesday’s home game against the Indiana Pacers. The Nets are also selling some seats for $10 at the box office, while supplies last … ‘Even with the injuries, the entire team believes that ‘10 Is Enough.’ That’s why we are asking you, our loyal fans, to rally around your team like never before at Tuesday night’s game. So bring your enthusiasm, show your support, and let’s get our first win,’ Brett Yormark, the team’s chief executive, said in a statement.”

    Lame. LOL

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I hope that Yormark is about to get called to the principal’s office (Stern’s) for running those BS schemes. This makes the NBA as a whole look bad.

They will probably be able run this “were mad cause we dont have any wins” promo all year.

  • clockwork

Yeah I’ll wait for their “81 is enough!” promo

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

If im the Nets im trading Devin Harris for whatevers decent, and payin Iverson 1.5M to come in and jack up 40 shots a night. Maybe see what Todd Mcculloch and Aaron Mckey are up 2.

  • riggs

    11 is not heaven
    12 is hell
    13 not for your team
    14 not for our team
    15…..we give up.

  • JoeMaMa

    those crazy russians….

  • NJ4Life

Our marketing team is worse than our actual team…

  • onions baby onions

    lolololol

  • Joe

I wouldn’t be surprised if they fire Lawrence Frank, and then have a promo for “Sign up to coach a quarter for your New Jersey Nets”

  • underdog

What’s the problem? Maybe they set a record, and they can sell 15 more t-shirs…

  • Hoodsnake

‘So Brett how many games do you think you need to win this season to keep your job?’

  • http://www.sonicbids.com doyouwantmore

Jigga should do a half-time show every night. They’d have a record sell-out crowd.

  • dang

    those dastardly nets

  • JD

10 is more than enough, honestly i hope these guys don’t get Lebron or D-Wade, i hate to think what kind of Marketing they would come up with

  • rav

cant they just cut to the chase and hand out free tickets to schoolkids to fill up the place to make their games look decent on tv???

  • Chazz Michael Michaels

this reminds me of a Jackie Moon scheme

  • IndyB

    It’s gonna be 11.

  • Joe

Byron Scotts available now, so maybe they can have him suit up for a game, that might draw some fans, maybe….um it’s worth a try, the worst thing that can happen, is they lose, and gives the marketing team, something esle to look forward to.

  • tom

i think its pretty cool that their making somthing out of nothing

    So when is enough enough?

  • MikeC.

“Our next great Nets marketing campaign features….Brook Lopez on roller skates jumping over our cheerleaders, while Devin Harris wrestles a bear! I’m so excited I can’t feel my arms!!!!!!”

  • MikeC.

I kinda like the idea of A.I. on the Nyets, jacking up crazy shots from every angle in order to put some points up and create a buzz for the team….wait, we need him on the Knicks for that too. Maybe we can work out a sharing agreement with the Russian dude. Isn’t Communism all about equal wealth? Or maybe it’s equal poverty.

there are a TRUCK load of beautiful comments here. what team work!

  • MikeC.

    @Dacre

Basketball is a team game. This thread brought out the best in everyone. We’re rolling fast and furious like the 2007 Warriors. Ballin’ at a breakneck speed, taking out soft suckas. The “Lebron is changing his number” thread was everyone arguing, going for self, wanting to move on but stuck in a quagmire of finger-pointing and bickering. Kinda like the every other Warriors team.

Boing Dynasty thinks like me. I think Jersey should go hard at Iverson and let him do what he does. It’s a win-win because the Nets will be exciting and Iverson will have free reign to play his game (all for the veteran minimum)

  • ClydeSays

Brook Lopez wrestles a bear, free corndogs, dancing fish and finally… expulsion from the NBA. The NBADL will welcome them with open arms…

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

“11 is enough! we are offering $11 lower bowl seats!!”

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com/ Seth

The return of Devin Harris will help turn things around. Supposedly he is practicing again and due to return soon.

  • GoNets

damn, that’s a lot of bashing on my Nets, and I have no comeback lol

  • chintao

These guys make the Knicks look classy… for now.

@Joe, Urm…didnt the nets fire Lawrence Frank quiet a while back?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

Yes I would also offer AI if I was the Nets just say it straight up you and John Wall next season you sell the tickets and take your 20 shots and you play your 38 minutes and that would be a good start to get this team going.
