Allen Iverson’s Knee Drained


Charles Oakley may think he’s a cry baby, but Iverson isn’t letting the procedure on his knee stop him from suiting up tonight: “For the second straight day, Allen Iverson did not practice with the Sixers. Iverson had 55 CCs of fluid drained from his knee yesterday. The team said he is day-to-day with synovitis of the left knee. ‘I think my knee will be a lot better being as I got it drained,’ Iverson said. ‘I think they said 55 CCs. That’s a lot. That’s more than I ever had before. I think it stems from me starting so fast and not having a chance to get a chance to practice and stuff, and not doing any running, just not playing over a month and jumping right into the fire. Hopefully, that’s what it’s from. I guess as much as I play, I guess it will go away, hopefully.”‘

    Maybe he should have kept playing ball during his time off in Detroit, and then during his summer off, and then during the first chunk of the season off, and then after he was let go of Memphis.

    It ain’t hate man, it’s the truth. I appreciate that he plays through injuries, but players do it all the time, it’s not that big of a deal.

    You felt the need, on an article about Iverson getting his knee drained, to point out that Iverson isn’t the only player who suffers and plays through injuries. And you wrote it with an exasperated tone.
    Sir, you intensely dislike Iverson to the point that other people’s praise of him irks you. Even when that praise isn’t that profuse.
    That sounds like hater behavior. Don’t be ashamed, lots of people are haters.

    That’s what I’m sayin here. Players do this all the time, yet when it’s AI it has 75% of the posters on here swooning over him saying how much of a warrior he is and how big his heart is…sure didn’t seem like much of a warrior when a certain unsustantiated back injury befell him last season…

    I didn’t even know a knee could hold 55cc’s of fluid in a knee! I had 18 and it looked like a jug full!
