Back Surgery Sidelines Rudy Fernandez

Bodies keep dropping in Portland: “Trail Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez will miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing a microdiscectomy on Tuesday afternoon to relieve pressure from a nerve root in his back. The team’s best outside shooter, and one of its best all-around players, Fernandez has missed the past two games with sciatic pain, which is causing pain in his right leg. The procedure comes one day after he received a second opinion. The prognosis targets his return in early to mid-January, meaning he will miss at least 17 games because of the injury. Fernandez is the seventh member of the Blazers to undergo a surgery this season, and the third in the past two days.”

Jesus man. Portland keeps getting hit by the injury bug. Of course, this keeps with Pacific Northwest luck. The last title team we had up here was when I was one year old.

Injuries Suck and can kill a season both for the team and fans! I loved portland’s roster when the season opened…. Hopefully they still have a season to play for when everyone gets healthy.

He’s like a skinny, more injury-prone Ginobili. Probably not durable enough to play many minutes with his aggressive style.

yeah i’m just hoping they can clinch a playoff berth, the majority of the team will be healthy barring any more injuries by the end of january and i think that they could still manage to win a first round series.

Dang, I really enjoy watching him play. Get well soon, Rudy. All of the Blazers, for that matter.
