Clippers: A Playoff Team?

Baron Davis thinks it can happen, and illustrates the point by comparing the team to some kind of cooked meal: “When informed that Charles Barkley recently told a reporter that the Clippers are good enough to make the playoffs, Davis smiled. Then he gave an emphatic answer. ‘We can be in the playoffs easily,’ Davis said, his mood suddenly upbeat. ‘We can be real good,’ Davis repeated three times, for emphasis. OK, you can be real good if what happens? Davis laughed. ‘We’ve all got to figure it out,’ Davis said. ‘It’s like cooking, man. You have got to have the right ingredients and it’s got to mesh in order for it to taste good. You can’t cook the beef too much. You’ve got to throw some carrots in the pot. Somebody — and I’m trying to be that person — has got to take what we all have and give us the confidence.’”

YES…. MY CLIPS WILL DEF BE IN THE PLAYOFFS… If everyone can stay healthy and get Blake back and he too stays healthy (Dont need him to suffer from SBD: Sam Bowie Disorder; which currently plagues Greg Oden and Andrew Bogut from time to time)

Absolutely. They can be a dark horse in the West once Blake comes back.

  • niQ Posted: Dec.10 at 11:49 am
Well, I’d say Kevin Durant and the OKC have a better chance…

    mmmmmmmmmm nah..

4 sho my Clips can make it in, but it would be nice if the chef was a hard @ss like Ramsay or had that BAM like Emeril and less like the guy in Mickey D’s…this team has got the pieces but they still need work, and Bassy needs to get the AND1 treatment and be forced to walk around with a doll 24/7 for that pass to SVG

I think the Clippers can make it, but Blake Griffin has to stay healthy for the rest of the season, and he has to play really good, if the Clippers want to play games in the playoffs.

  • onlyclipfanonslam Posted: Dec.10 at 2:03 pm
No… I had them at 35 wins even before the injury to Blake. Even brought it up here.

Look at the western c. There is LAL, Den, Dal, Utah, OKC, Por, Pho, Hou. Now that’s the eight who’s currently inside the line. Then spurs and NOH (who will get better) right outside. Though I like the squad that the clips got, i’d say there is no, not this year. They just are not consitent enough to push the “real teams” out of there, and by that I mean the teams that accually plays team basketball.

    *No Chance

  • tavoris Posted: Dec.10 at 4:14 pm
If Gordon stays healthy and if Griffin gets healthy, then they are a DEEP, athletic, skilled squad with reliable scoring from all 5 positions on the floor. It would help if Kaman keeps playing out of his mind. Those seem to be three pretty big IF’s tho.

the only time the clippers can compare themselves to pot roast is after they get eaten by a team like the celtics.

  • Dr. West Posted: Dec.10 at 5:38 pm
Haha. I needed comic relief. Just go and pursuit your dreams of being a p*rn director.

  • Jonathan Posted: Dec.10 at 10:00 pm
    Don’t bet on it.

  • MikeC. Posted: Dec.11 at 12:36 am
@tavoris if certain players stay healthy? Clippers don’t have a training/medical staff. They hire high school biology students because Sterling is too cheap. The Clips have an “athletic, skilled squad”? How many times have the Clips fielded a team loaded with athletic and skilled players who teamed up to play like crap, miss the playoffs by a wide margin and get a high lottery pick? That’s how they keep getting athletic, skilled players. Those same players force trades or leave as free agents and help other teams make the playoffs.

Sorry Baron but the problem is the chef. That’s you B-Diddy. On your game your Clips may have something but I’m afraid your game is long since broken. Time to step-on and let someone else take over the cooking.

  • rexon Posted: Dec.13 at 12:18 pm
    he cant hear you

  • tavoris Posted: Dec.14 at 11:54 am
@Mike, u r correct. However, this Clippers team is more talented than any they’ve had in a LONG while.
