Post Up: Holiday Hiatus

Kinda, sorta. And, Philly wins!

by Holly MacKenzie/@stackmack

Well, we’re going to be brief today. Like, really brief. Somehow, I forgot it was the middle of December already and while I was working away with my head down and mind focused, I was reminded that my company’s work party was that evening.

Yeah.

I just got home and I probably shouldn’t be writing this right now, but I’m too worried I will not wake up at 8 a.m. to write in the morning. Even though I did not see any basketball tonight. Not one game. I can’t tell you the last time I didn’t see a basketball game during the NBA season. It definitely hasn’t happened yet this year and I don’t need it to happen again.

I feel like I missed out. On things like Minnesota beating Utah in freaking Utah. Jonny Flynn having 28 and Corey Brewer apparently still feeling the aftereffects of the Fisher dunk, scoring 22 and Al Jefferson with 23 and 14.

I wish I would have watched the game to see the Utah crowd go silent. The Jazz are so freaking dominant at home, I’m betting it was a great game.

And in the loss? Deron Williams poured in 38 points and 13 assists. Wish I could tell you how amazing he was. That’s a pretty wild line. And, the score was 110-108 for Minny with a Flynn layup giving them the game. Of course I would miss this one!

My man Gil was 7-for-8 from the free throw line last night. Didn’t matter as the Wizards lost to the Clippers. What the hell is going on in Washington? Eric Gordon had 29 for the Clippers. Love that guy.

How the hell does Jason Kidd have as many rebounds as Emeka Okafor? I know he’s a great rebounding guard, but dammit, Hornets. Chris Paul with 20 points, 16 assists and five steals in a loss to the Mavs.

Also, impressive, impressive effort on the second night of a back-to-back for Memphis, falling to the Celtics, but by a score of 110-105. Saw Rudy Gay tweeting to himself not to get sick, so I second that notion, stay healthy, Rudy.

Twenty points for Allen I. and a Philly victory. Finally. Thank you, Golden State Warriors for coming to town.

Twenty-one points. 23 rebounds. four blocked shots. Dwight Howard’s line, a throwback to the fantasy numbers he was putting up last year. I kid, Dwight’s been solid, but doesn’t it feel like he was more dominant last season? I ended up with both Howard and Chris Bosh and Bosh has been putting in work.

Okay, this is longer than I expected because that’s what happens when I start looking at boxscores. Time for me to go to sleep or tomorrow is going to be rough for me.

How many owners do you have on your league? I don’t get how you get both Chris Bosh and Dwight, your in roto format right? You better be dominating your league Holly!

I have Baron Davis and Arenas in my league. They are the FG% killers…

And marvin. Dwight is not very coveted in a lot of leagues cause of his high TO’s and horrible FT%. I don’t play roto leagues but dude is known to get late 2nd rebound to 3rd round in roto leagues.

It’s a shame that Corey Brewer dunk on Derek Fisher didn’t make Slam TV…

@ niq – Gil single handedly makes me lose in the FG% category every single week…I’m trying to get rid of him.

yes underdog, isnt it interesting that corer brewer dunking all over fish in la, with the crowd get excited about it doesnt make it here. it couldnt be because many of the slamonline staff are laker “fans”, could it? nah, that has nothing to do with it. holly, please quit complaining about how busy you are, we all have busy lives and it gets really boring when every single post up reads the same. “im so busy, gotta get up early, im so busy, love this player, love that player, im so busy”. please switch it up somehow, thanks

Whoah whoah whoah. Holly’s been doing a damn fine job having to cover all the great games in the league through a summary.
