Rasheed Wants to Read Donaghy‘s Book

The NBA doesn‘t want a book report from Wallace, but he‘s going to give them one anyway. He‘s the best: “Bad news for the NBA. Rasheed Wallace is getting the Tim Donaghy book. ‘I want to check it out and see what’s there,‘ Wallace said last night … Celts GM Danny Ainge passed on word to Wallace from the NBA that he should watch his critical statements, but the forward won’t bow to the request. ‘Either way they’re going to get me,‘ Wallace said. ‘If I don’t say nothing I’m going to get fined, and if I say something I’m going to get fined. So I might as well say something about what’s on my mind, what I want to say. They’re going to hit me up either way. I’ve been through that before in Portland. When I wasn’t talking to the media they were fining me. But then when I did talk to the media they didn’t like what I had to say, so they fined me some more. So I was like, ‘Well, (expletive), if you’re going to fine me I might as well say what the hell I want to say.’ When it was suggested he could offer a ‘no comment‘ to questions about officiating, Wallace said, ‘Yeah, I could do that, but I think I have to be honest when I’m asked a question. And what happened to freedom of speech? You know, I say what’s on my mind, speaking my freedom, and I get fined for it. It’s a catch-22 with that (expletive), man.”‘

Well, that is a logical approach, I guess.

  • BeEqual

ha ha ha… all I can do is laugh at Sheeds quotes. What a funny dude.

  • BostonBaller

You know every player worth anythig is going to read the book OR have it read to them. lol. They want to know the juice whether it’s true or not but 99.5% will deny reading it and others will not comment on it.

  • k.a.

sheed is the NBA version of undercover brothers conspiracy brother.

Ironically, he’ll probably get fined for talking about getting fined.

How bout this headline: Moons Wants Rasheed To Stop Taking Threes And Get His Butt Back On The Low Block.

  • Heals

He has added a whole new element to the entertainment value of the C’s this year, as for his 3pt range right now…..

  • Cam

we need him in the hall of fame just for the speech

  • http://www.cracked.com litetitan

I want to see him and Dennis Rodman inducted on the same evening.

  • Largo

Rasheed, Dennis Rodman and Peter Vescey again.

    Sheed speaks the troof

  • Shifty

    Sheed is the (expletive) man.

  • Big Marv

Sheed = Original. You go and tell ‘em Roscoe, never mind ‘The Man’.
He said before: ‘I ain’t scared of you (the refs) man!’

  • tavoris

Sheed brings up-yet again-how the NBA only wants the players to comment in robotic ways. Any player who dares 2 have a genuine opinion IS A PROBLEM.

This is reminding me of Craig Hodges is so many ways.

  • Yesse

This is what i like about Sheed. We share the same opinion on free speech.Just be straight. Why every big shot man has to make alot of turns in his word’s and make them more mild so Nba wouldnt fine you and if you get fined for reading a book, that just show’s how rigged the Nba is.

  • tavoris

tru dat, Yesse. he young’ns don’t c it tho

  • tom

man, is Sheed the only NBA player that realizes how terrible David Stern is for the league?

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

tom – what would you do differently?

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Moose

I’ll side with Hursty here, tom. Stern singlehandedly resurrected the NBA years ago and still does a great job.

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com/ Seth

Sheed talks more about refereeing than the game itself. The man is destined to wear black and white someday.

  • chaps

I remember when he still was playing with pistons like 2 seasons ago he came to practice for a game against the clips at park facility here in la with the whole squad and my loser coworker was like ‘whattup sheed let get your shoes’ from the office we coould see them practicing thru the plexi haha rasheed was wtf gave him a look like was special or something..haha ill never forget

  • Ace

I can’t wait to hear what he has to say after he reads the book. We all know the league plays favorites and can go fine crazy same in the WNBA. Both have crazy calls in games, unfair fines and suspensions. I’m glad Nate Robinson finally got to play, maybe the coach felt bad for that ridiculous fine Nate got for something he didn’t say.

  • http://www.another48minutes.com Gerard Himself

When Rasheed retired, I just want one thing: that he writes a book. From the day he got drafted, til the day he retired. And EVERYTHING in between. Uncensored.

  • cballer

    Typical Sheed.Awesome!

  • j.b

Getting fined for reading a book? Now that sends a message..just do not read kids

  • tavoris

nah jb he can read..they just want him to keep his non-Stern approved comments to himself. All Stern wants players to do is talk about how all the coaches are great & how Lebron will look in a Knicks uni

  • Gabe

Sheed should have written the book on corrupt refs, he knows better than any other player. What a G.

  • nastierthanu

He’s got a point I wanna read the book as well. Sheed has probably been fined more in his career than I have made in 10 years. Do u son

  • Jon

hate the pistons hate the blazers love rasheed wallace.

  • http://celticknightk3@aol.com Celtic Knight

I think we the Celtics should retire Sheed’s #30 after he retires for being very supportive to the team and being very bold like a true Irish warrior!!!
