All-Star Reserves: Revealed

by Marcel Mutoni / @marcel_mutoni

Those poor TNT execs. No matter how much careful planning goes into it, and all the hype that’s built up, the Internet always manages to somehow undercut them.

You could watch the broadcast tonight to find out who will be coming off the bench in the All-Star game next month, or you could be smart, and simply continue reading the remainder of this post.

Here are the names, via Yahoo!:

Point guards Deron Williams of Utah, Chicago’s Derrick Rose and Boston’s Rajon Rondo will make their All-Star Game debuts next month in Dallas, sources said Thursday.

Besides Rondo and Rose, the East roster includes Boston’s Paul Pierce, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace and Atlanta’s Joe Johnson and Al Horford.

The West includes the New Orleans’ Chris Paul, the Lakers’ Pau Gasol, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki, Memphis’ Zach Randolph and Portland’s Brandon Roy.

Apologies to David Lee, Chris Kaman, Josh Smith, Andrew Bynum and Chauncey Billups. Maybe next year. Or, who knows, someone may get injured between now and Feb.14.

Agree, disagree, or indifferent to the selections? You know the drill: sound off below.

There should at least be a rule that says you can’t miss more than 15 games. That way you reward a guy for playing EVERY game and managing to stay healthy. The only people agreeing with the Gasol selection are Laker fans. Everyone disagreeing are BASKETBALL fans.

I think if David Lee and Al Horford swapped their teams, they`ll probably match each other`s stat, so it`s insane to say Horford over Lee, or vice versa. It`s basically matter of W/L.

    ROSE NEEDS A COVER

He’s not a reserve, but still i dont think Steve Nash should be the starting PG for the West. I think a lot of people would of been fooled by Phoenix hot start, if you compare there record (27-21) with New Orleans (25-21) then theres only two games in it. If Chris Paul was on Phoenix i think that they would by around 30-18 at this point in the schedule. Seems like Chris Paul is being slept on this year, in my opinion hes the most skilled player in the league, and it seems like on every play he has an asnwer for however the D plays him.

I agree, Chris Kaman and David Lee should’ve been chosen to play in the ASG
