John Kuester, Tayshaun Clear Up Beef

They got into it on Friday night during a home loss to Indy, but player and coach both say there’s no more drama: “Detroit coach John Kuester addressed Friday night’s verbal spat with forward Tayshaun Prince before Saturday’s game against Portland. ‘This is an emotional game,’ Kuester said. ‘It wasn’t anything that escalated. He wanted to win and he expressed a couple thoughts.’ With seven minutes left and the Pistons trailing the Pacers by 23 points, Kuester had seen enough and pulled Prince, Richard Hamilton and Charlie Villanueva. Prince and Kuester then got into a verbal quarrel and Prince had to be restrained by teammates. Kuester downplayed the incident, but defended his actions to empty the bench. ‘You can sense a change had to be made and that’s when I decided to make that move,’ Kuester said. Prince, playing in his first game since Jan. 9, logged 24 minutes and had seven points and six rebounds. Kuester said he and Prince spoke before Saturday’s game to clear the air.”
