LeBron Signs Multiyear Deal with McDonald’s

Further evidence that there is no need to go to NYC to ‘market’ himself: “The NBA superstar has agreed to a multiyear partnership with McDonald’s Corp., adding the global fast-food giant to a list of heavyweight corporate sponsors that already included Nike, Coca-Cola and State Farm. Financial terms were not immediately known, but the deal certainly will add to James’ substantial net worth. [...] He has filmed his first commercial with McDonald’s, a take-off on the infamous 1993 ad that featured hoops legends Michael Jordan and Larry Bird engaging in a trick-shot competition for a Big Mac. The new spot will debut during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7.”

  • Jukai Posted: Jan.28 at 5:20 pm
By contract, Lebron is not allowed to steal any little kids’ french fries unless they are McDonalds french fries from now on.

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Jan.28 at 5:27 pm
    Over 28 teams served.

  • Allenp Posted: Jan.28 at 5:30 pm
A blood-sucking corporation slowly selling death to America’s kids? Yep, sounds like the perfect partner for The Kang…
    Just playing.
    Maybe.

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Jan.28 at 5:43 pm
Mcdonalds food is healthy in moderation. The people slowly feeding death to America’s kids are the parents who are too lazy or stupid to raise their children with any sense of restraint or self-discipline. There you go blaming everyone but the person responsible for their own problems again. LOL AllenP I feel like antagonizing you today. Nothing personal, seriously.

things like this is why i hate modern day sports

  • Jukai Posted: Jan.28 at 5:50 pm
doyouwantmore: I read that as I shoved my mouth full of pretzels

  • doyouwantmore Posted: Jan.28 at 6:04 pm
Jukai: I wrote that in line at Arby’s.

  • Hangtime Hec Posted: Jan.28 at 6:09 pm
Comments like these are the reasons I check this website. There are times were I dont even read the article itself. With that said, Michael Jordan didnt play for the knicks and he was know all around the planet. Some people thought of him as G-d but with sneakers on. So whats with the malarky that Bron has to go to the knicks to gain even more exposure?

  • d.j. Posted: Jan.28 at 6:36 pm
OK i was expecting at least one Eddie Curry joke common yall dont disappoint… And common slam we need another eddie curry story i miss those, its getting lame around here, or at least a new pig baby davis story ?

  • dmonz Posted: Jan.28 at 6:53 pm
Dwight made a Mcdo pitch during last year’s playoffs,”I had a Double Quarter Pounder and it FIRED me up!” LET DWIGHT and BRON do the 2010 version of the Larry-MIke HORSE commercial

  • d.j. Posted: Jan.28 at 6:57 pm
dwight cant make a jump shooooot… unless u wanted to have a dunk only commercial is the only way he will be in it haha

  • James the Balla Posted: Jan.28 at 7:20 pm
Will Macdonald’s pay Bron’s 25 grand fine for kicking the water bottle? or will he just fart a roll of money out and burn the change?

  • andrew Posted: Jan.28 at 7:21 pm
@dmonz – Dwight and LBJ are in the new HORSE commercial. Its got to be about dunking cos yeah whats dwight gonna do a layup then its out of his range

  • frank Posted: Jan.28 at 7:24 pm
hangtime hec said malarky. that made me burst out laughing, and i still cannot figure out why.

  • tony Posted: Jan.28 at 7:58 pm
word to doyouwantmore , i agree with ya. This is kinda fun, does anyone remember the jordan mcdonalds commercials in the 90′s. I remember He even had his own mcdonalds sandwhich, does anyone remember what actually in the sandwhich? i think it had bbq flavored ribs or something?

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jan.28 at 8:14 pm
Allenp, you’re not playing. Well said. I hear Lebron’s the new marlboro man as well, but with a trist. He’s in flava country.

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jan.28 at 8:36 pm
    trist – twist. sigh

  • Jon Posted: Jan.28 at 10:08 pm
On a side note, did you know Shaq is endorsing muscle milk. Now with Lebron doing this. Talk about a fitting image. Oh the irony! What next? Greg Oden in an advert while wearing clothes?!

  • Bart Posted: Jan.28 at 10:22 pm
    Lebron the fat mess

  • rob Posted: Jan.28 at 11:43 pm
Big Baby Davis is so jealous right now. Imagine that: Big Baby eating a Big Mac. A match made in heaven.

  • Boing Dynasty Posted: Jan.28 at 11:56 pm
I wonder who hes going to sign with after his McDonald’s contract runs out…

  • DP Posted: Jan.29 at 12:03 am
Lebron needs to eat their salads on the daily. He will catch high blood pressure in no time.

  • dma Posted: Jan.29 at 1:14 am
I don’t see why this is news everywhere. Players get endorsement deals everyday. With that said, Carl’s Jr. still makes better burgers!

  • TheMagician10 Posted: Jan.29 at 1:31 am
McDonalds wants someone who kicks water bottles at innocent fans trying to watch a game, forcing elders and young helpless children to dodge flying objects because he’s mad at a correct no-call by the officials? Golden arches meet the “Golden Boy” who displays great sportsmanship

  • DEO Posted: Jan.29 at 2:09 am
kool aid should sign him up too..oh yeah!

  • Hunter Gatherrs Posted: Jan.29 at 2:15 am
This man does not now how to stop making money!

  • rob Posted: Jan.29 at 3:06 am
so now he can officially promote the mcgangbang. the best burger ever!!!

  • rob Posted: Jan.29 at 3:07 am
if you havent heard wht a mcgangbang is. here you go. http://www.eatmedaily.com/2009/03/the-mcgangbang-a-mcchicken-sandwich-inside-a-double-cheeseburger/ great stoner food :)

  • Lebran Posted: Jan.29 at 5:13 am
LOL @ Boing Dynasty That was very subtley the most meaningful and observant comment i have seen on this website. I hear that Bron and Jay-Z have been meeting in Burger King a lot. And drinking Pepsi. Thats going to upset the McDonalds fans seeing as Lebron was born and raised near a McDonalds.

  • rikson Posted: Jan.29 at 5:46 am
Everybody was born and raised near a McDonalds! They are just everywhere….

  • Nigel Posted: Jan.29 at 7:16 am
But will LeBron shake Dwight’s hand if he loses?

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Jan.29 at 11:10 am
    @rav “Posted: Jan.28 at 5:48 pm
things like this is why i hate modern day sports” In the 50s sports stars endorsed cigarettes and hard liquor.

  • RoG23 Posted: Jan.29 at 11:50 am
it amazes me how much people HATE lebron. but i can still remember when everyone hated kobe, so i guess he is on the right path.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.29 at 1:04 pm
This was an easy deal to get, seeing that he plays for Grimace.

  • Retrobat Posted: Jan.29 at 5:09 pm
    Russ FTW!!!

  • The Philosopher Posted: Jan.29 at 8:43 pm
    lluminati!

  • therighttoremainsalient Posted: Feb.1 at 7:41 am
