Most Popular NBA Merchandise (Thru January)
Who knew Derrick Rose could move this much product! Chicago’s point guard boosted overall jersey sales from No. 11 at the end of his rookie year to No. 4. Bulls merchandise sells along the best, so that could be part of it. His flashy game could be another. His Playoff performance against the Celtics definitely earned him followers. But still, No. 4 is high, considering Derrick finished sixth among Eastern Conference guards in All-Star votes, another crude barometer of popularity.
Other tidbits of interest include Dwight’s dramatic jump from No. 10 to No. 3 on this season’s list. Magic merchandise also rose to No. 6 overall, despite missing the Top 10 last season. Allen Iverson’s 76er jersey is still clinging on at No. 14 — a number which might rise as the uniform’s only been on sale since December…
Rankings are based on sales at the ever-charming NBA Store and NBAStore.com since the start of the ’09-10 season.
