NBA JAM Elections, Week 1

The most important vote of your life.

by Brad Graham

It’s official, there’s an updated version of the (second) greatest arcade machine ever conceived (after Street Fighter II) heading to your place in 2010. NBA JAM will soon be unleashed on the Nintendo Wii, thanks to EA Sports, and the best part – we get to elect the NBA players who will appear on the game’s final rosters.

Unlike NBA All Star Voting, this election benefits from the coolest cats being selected (over those who have simply earned their right to appear), so lets do our part and make sure that the JAM ethos of style of substance remains king.

First up for you consideration (and currently on the clock) are three Western Conference surprise packets: the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The players eligible for Sac-Town include: Kevin Martin, Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, Spencer Hawes, Beno Udrih and Andres Nocioni.

The Clips are running with Baron Davis, Blake Griffin, Al Thornton, Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon and Marcus Camby on their board.

Finally, the Hi-jacked Thunder feature Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha, Nenad Krstic and James Harden.

You have to select three players, which isn’t too hard and shouldn’t take too long but if you wanna have your say, you better be quick because voting for these three rosters will close soon (at which point the next three will become available).

No, voting for Beno Udrih, Spencer Hawes and Andres Nocioni (instead of Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson and Kevin Martin) isn’t acceptable. To help ensure this doesn’t happen log onto NBA-JAM.easports.com.

Please don’t choose K.Mart and Blake Griffin, they will be on the injured list and might crash the game. (joking)
    Tyreke, Hawes, Thompson
Baron Davis, Gordon, Kaman (chose him over Camby cause Kaman is more of an offensive force. And in video games… Especially NBA JAM, you don’t realllllly play defense. more like pushing. lol)
And finally, Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook. No bigs but ahwells. Maybe if Ibaka became the next Mutumbo.

I wish the kings list included Casspi. I would roll with Martin, Evans and Casspi (actual vote included Thompson). Definately have to go with Baron, Gordon and Griffin on the clips. That is an ultimate JAM squad. OKC is easy: Durantula, Westbrook and Green…uber-athletic.

The only real decision on the list is the 3rd spot on the clippers. After Davis and Gordon the logical choice seems to be griffin but then feels wrong to give a guy who hasn’t even suited up once the nod over thornton or camby or kaman. I went with camby purely because he would look funnier with a big head. Its not like NBA jam is a sim and defensive minded players cant score as well others its freakin nba jam you just run aroun dunking and draining 3s and blocking a few dunks and intentionally goal tending cos you can.

if you havent played a minute this year your shouldnt be elegible , im looking at you Blake Griffin, how they gonna base skill set in the game and rating? bases on preseason and college, at that standard he’d would be at elite status, they should base it off he skills with crutches

  • Kaman’s Hair

any chance Kaman appears in the game with his previous haircut? yeah, the long cavemanesque one.

  • RoytheBoy

they should have more than 3 players per team. NBA Hangtime featured I believe anywhere from 4 to 8 players per team.

Hangtime had 5 different players for each team. Oh, and ‘he couldn’t hit the backside of a barn!’
