No One Tells Don Nelson When to Retire

And certainly not one of his former players. Got that, Stephen Jackson?: “After Coach Nelson gets his record, he’s going to hang it up,’ Jackson, a Charlotte guard, said in an interview Monday with FanHouse about his former coach at Golden State who is soon to break the NBA record for career coaching wins. ‘I just know that he’s going to the (Warriors) office and pass the reins to (assistant coach) Keith Smart.’ Nelson begged to differ. ‘I’m going to coach until my contract is up next year,’ Nelson said in a phone interview. ‘Ask Jack if he’s going to leave with one year left on his contract. … I’m going to honor my contract next year and then that will be it.”’

uugh don nelson is a terrible coach anyways. he needs to retire. the nba would be better off without him

I will miss his run and gun style when he’s gone. I don’t see how a “terrible” coach could win so many games.

Don Nelson is a terrible coach, he’s lost his senile old mind Vlad Rad or Mikki friggin Moore over Randolph he’s an idiot

i bet i could have the winngest record if i coach the lakers now (i’m 21) till i have one foot in the grave. my winning percentage will be nets-like but im sure time will push me up the standings in all time wins.

He never won the big one, you have to win the big one, I cant stand the fact jerry sloan is in the hall of fame, Lenny never won the big one, a coach without a championship should not get inducted period.

Lonzo, Sloan is in the Hall of fame because he’s a great coach, a loyal employee, and will cuss a dude out like the f*gg*t b*tch he is if he fails at boxing out or setting a pick. He is awesome.

id believe it, golden state has been a joke for a few years now, that’s where players go to get benched and forgotten, Jamal Crawford and Stephen Jackson are lucky they got away

I’m pretty sure Lenny Wilkens got a ring as coach of the Sonics back in the day.
