Rafer Alston Lands in Miami

One person that’s particularly pleased with the signing, is Dwyane Wade: “In the wake of Wednesday’s staggering overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, when the Miami Heat was unable to maintain a two-point lead with six-tenths of a second remaining in regulation, Dwyane Wade embraces the return of his former teammate. ‘He’s a general on the floor,’ Wade said, as the Heat turned its attention to Friday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns. ‘He helps to lead his team.’ Alston cleared waivers Thursday, agreeing to a one-year, minimum-scale contract to return to the team he helped spark to the 2003-04 playoffs during Wade’s rookie season.”

hmmmm…I bet Rafer isnt that upset about leaving orlando now. Wont have to get benched for Jameer and wont have to play for svg or the nets…gets to ball with D-Wade in Miami…nice.

Hey look at that, Wade is happy cause they brought in someone he actually likes. Now if only they could bring in a big name player..

Larry, not quite. I’m happy we have a veteran guard that can score a bit at the one, but he’s going to be along the same lines that J-Will was for the Heat, able to hit some threes, create better than the other two point guards on the roster and hopefully play with his world famous Skip swagger to give the Heat a bit of fire they’ve been missing for about 3 seasons. It’s not an earth shaking move at all, but in the short-term, it makes them a bit more competitive, and they may actually be able to hold onto the 5th spot with a long stretch of road games coming up (20 out of 26) where Skip’s arrival may carry over to the rest of the squad for a bit to keep them buoyant. I think the Heat have another move in them before the trade deadline too……JO may move, since he’s in the last year of his deal and he’s taking shots away from Wade & Beas. We’ll see.

Finally!!! As a Skip fan, it was EXCRUCIATING watch him play with the Nets. That is one of the worst teams ever in the history of the NBA. Skip deserved better and now he gets it. A chance to make the playoffs again!! Go Heat!!

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jan.10 at 3:10 pm
Its funny, because Skip was way better at running the Orlando Magic than Jameer Nelson. Go figure.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jan.10 at 3:10 pm
    *Than Jameer Nelson is NOW.
