SVG: Leave Vince Carter Alone!
Somehow, I don’t think Van Gundy’s pleas will receive much consideration from the media or basketball-watching public: “After the Orlando Magic’s 109-98 win over the Indiana Pacers at Amway Arena — one that featured a 6-point Carter performance on 2-of-8 shooting – SVG said this when asked about Carter’s continued funk: ‘Look, it’s just too much scrutiny on one guy. That’s all we come in and talk about every game. ‘What did you think of Vince, what did you think of Vince?’ We played well.’ You’re right, Stan … your team played well, but let’s keep things in perspective. You just punked the 14-28 Indiana Pacers. You should play well against the Pacers. Vince Carter should play well against the Pacers, too. But don’t tell us Vince Carter is under too much scrutiny, chief.”

He once famously told the Torornto media that dunks were overrrated and that he would stop dunking games and he was not joking. He stopped driving to the basket until he was traded.
If Vince had the “drive” to be great, like Kobe ,he would be considered today one of the best ever to play b ball! That’s coming from someone who can’t stand Kobe.
It appears from your comments, and others’ responses to those comments, that you are the one who is delusional. Chuck was great in so many ways; if you can’t even remember his catch phrases, then you don’t know enough of his work to dump on him. You are entitled to your opinion, but you are just showing your own ignorance. BTW, the phrase was “…salami and cheese.”, and he explained its origin many, many times on the air. As to Vince, I think he should have been docked a few million $$$ in pay when he admitted not giving 100% wimping out instead of driving to the hole. He is a class-less act and deserves every bit of negative media that comes his way, from SVG or not.
