T-Wolves Shopping Jefferson?

David Khan is reportedly looking to dump Big Al, who has struggled to regain form this season: “Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn recently offered forward Al Jefferson to the Indiana Pacers for forward Danny Granger, but was immediately rebuffed, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. While Pacers president Larry Bird remains determined to build around Granger, sources say Kahn has become increasingly dubious on making Jefferson a cornerstone for the Timberwolves. So far, Kahn has tried to undo almost everything from the Kevin McHale regime, and trading Jefferson would be another significant step in that direction.”

wow… why, i’m not going to lie I haven’t watched much of the t-wolves this year, but i’m positive jefferson still has the potential to be DOMINANT

  • LeoneL

So,Kevin Love will be the face of the franchise?

  • a_whiteman

David khan is an idiot. I wouldn’t be surprised if he flipped big al for another pg

  • cramzy

Did he seriously think he was going to grab Danny Granger? Word?…I’m sure Riley can swindle him out of Jefferson for next to nothing…You know after he initially asks for D.Wade… Make it happen Riles!

@nakware, dominant or not, no one would trade Danny Granger for him.

Too soon to give up on Big Al… Period! Let the man play the rest of the season and then re-evaluate him… He’s not gonna be himself possibly until after the AS Break/Second half of the season… ACL tears take a player a while to get back to shape… Al’s knee is still possibly tender and he still possibly has some “concerns” with how to move… Kahn give him time!

  • Orlando Woolridge

I agree with Hussman, its way too soon. What exactly did Kahn expect, that he would be back to his old self to start the season? I like K Love as well, but comparing the two after watching them play the bulls the other night, you wouldn’t be able to tell who had the knee injury. They are both good at positioning themselves to get rebounds, but neither of them play above the rim. I’d keep Al.

The Heat should trade JO and some backup player for Big Al.

I’d love to see Al back in Boston but don’t have my hopes up since they don’t have a need for a big man.

TRADE HIM FOR BOSH..i would be ecstatic not having to see bosh pull up for jumpers everytime he touches the ball

i used my 3rd pick to pick up big Al the past 2 years, and i had to say he made me question if i made the correct choice earlier on this season, especially since he was a monster last season before he went down. i think he’s been playing very well lately, and as someone mentioned above, no one can just come back from a serious injury and perform at an all-star level right away. in conclusion, kahn would be stupid to trade away one of the few 20-10 guy in the league.

Trade him for Boozer, 2 of the most under rated players together in Utah = unstoppable. As for ‘nobody’ doing Al for Granger, why not Granger at his best is 25ppg Al at his best is 23ppg but you get 11 boards and a block compared to 4 assists only because they let him bring the ball up the court I say both Larry Legend and Kahn are kidding themselves

  • derrick

boozer and bosh would never resign in minny.

  • Bart

who cares Kahn would free up 12 mil to try and sign a desperate free agent, they have decent talent with K-love, Flynn and Brewer now playing OK but i’m sorry Kevin Love get double doubles but i really dont see him pulling in 23 and 11. Utah would do that deal in a second and i dont know whats going through Kahn’s head so you never really know

  • Bart

and personally i think if the money was good enough Boozer would stay, he don’t care about contenders if they pay him

  • dawn

Big Al and rubio to houston for Tmac and Dorsey,Cook

  • Bart

noooo Al will not play with Yao Ming although it might get him into the all star game

  • rav

tbh i’ve always felt that he was someone who’d put up great numbers but with him as the best guy on your team or 2nd best you arent likely to win

Boozer for Al Jefferson would work straight up! Their contracts are almost identical, 12.3 mill to 12.0 mill (jefferson) and Twolves get that 12.3 mill off the books next season if they dont want to resign Boozer. Jefferson can start in Utah, or come off the bench at least till he is up to 100%. Utah get a 4 yr contract, which buys them some time to see what he brings.

  • Jose

Yes!Riley!Pat get on this man! Get rid of JO and maybe pick up and extra piece or EC from MIN.

  • Shem

Oh my god, trade rumors.. i love em. Bosh for Bynum like i can write a book on how bad of a deal that is for Toronto and Minnesota is now trying to dump the best player on their team? Trust me when i say they will struggle for much longer then they probably will now if they trade him

  • http://www.luketynan.blogspot.com litetitan

It would be a mysterious outcome if Bosh, Bynum and Big Al all ended up on the same team… Sacramento?

You know who needs a big man? Detroit MF Pistons, that’s who.

  • http://IJustWantMyNameToLookBig.com Chukaz

I can’t believe that f*cker’s shoppin jefferson. Kevin Love has a really kool last name but that ain’t nearly enough to be the face of the franchise. If that dude is stupid enough to trade jefferson, he should go after rudy gay. Let the Gay Love era in minny begin!!!!!!!!

  • Bart

    Chukaz has his s&*t together!!

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

stfu dawn, you sound like a lakers fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers
